RIP to Cal Wilson, a New Zealand born stand-up comedian, author, radio and television presenter who was based in Australia, who has passed away following a short illness. Cal was a mainstay of Australian panel shows such as Spicks and Specks, Have You Been Paying Attention?, Good News Week, and Would I Lie to You?, and appeared several times on the improv show Thank God You're Here. She also appeared twice on QI in the J season. For those of you who might not be aware of her, in 2019 she recorded a Netflix Original Comedy Special titled Comedians of the World representing New Zealand, which I imagine is still available. Perhaps most disturbing for me is that we were the same age, 53. In fact, she was younger than me as I was born in April and she in October.

Saw her on QI; but didn't really know much about her, compared to some of the other guest they had, from Down Under.

Paul Levitz just reported on Facebook that Keith Giffen has passed away. I’m on my phone so super hard to do more than a minimal post.
R.I.P.

Wow; one of the guys of my era. Loved his Defenders and then the Legion, before he went full tilt Munoz. Not always a fan of his humor, though his stuff was pretty funny before Lobo took over.

Just looked around; apparently, he suffered a stroke, on the 8th and passed away yesterday.

Wow....one of those "I didn't know they were still alive." I liked her Lois, a bit more hard nosed reporter type. Noel Neil was great, but I kind of liked the Phyllis Coates Lois a bit more. It didn't really have the time to get jokey.

I liked Noel Neill. How could you not? But Coates's Lois was how Lois should be: ballsy enough to make it in a man's profession and far from overawed by Superman. I also loved her when I was a kid and they'd show her serials, "Jungle Drums of Africa" and "Panther Girl of the Kongo" edited into standard movie-length features on local Saturday afternoon TV. I've seen her pop up in "The Lone Ranger" TV show and a few Westerns, and I always felt that with her steely edge and sexiness, she could have been at least a B-movie Barbara Stanwyck or Ida Lupino, but, alas, it wasn't meant to be. And she liked terriers, which alone makes her aces with me...

Farewell, Hubert Reeves, astrophysicist, science communicator, philosopher, poet and endless optimist when it came to mankind's place in the cosmos. We are truly made of star dust, as the title of one of your books said, and no one explained it better than you. Say hi to Carl Sagan, up there in the stars!

Was just looking at his bio; he finished his education 30 years after starting his collegiate studies and earned a masters and taught an acting class for a while, which is very admirable.
I never got to see much of his work, though looking at his credits, I probably caught a few guest roles, without knowing who he was. Lost in Space was never syndicated in my area, growing up and I have only see the first three episodes, on a VHS, when the revamp movie came out.
What's amazing is June Lockhart is still going strong, at 98.

Piper Laurie has passed at age 91. While she had a long and celebrated career in film, I know her best from the so-bad-it's-good 80's Corey & Corey film, Dream A Little Dream. Back in 1990, when most families owned three VHS tapes, it was one of our three, and I watched it almost weekly. Rest in peace, Ms. Laurie.

A very talented actress. She was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her role as Eddie's alcoholic girlfriend Sarah in The Hustler, and for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Carrie's fanatically religious and unstable mother Margaret in Carrie. She was also Aunt Em in 1985's cult classic Return to Oz.
RIP Ms Laurie. I think I'm due a re-watch of Return to Oz some time this coming week.
