(See the Advance Warning before participating) Nominations for The Best Classic Comic Thread1. Please post no more than one nomination for the best classic comic thread in our first year of the CCF (between April 30th, 2014 at 9:22pm EST and April 30, 2015 at 9:21pm EST). 2. You must explain why you are nominating this thread. 3. Please second no more than one nomination made by another member. You may not second your own nomination. 4. Any thread receiving both a nomination and a second will be included in the final ballot for this award on May 25th. 5. Nominations and Seconds for this round conclude at the end of May 21th. 6. Absolutely NO negative talk about another member, nor another member's nomination. The very purpose of this event is to salute our members and their contributions for all they've added to this community. Though only one thread will ultimately receive this award, you have the potential to thank and maybe touch members with any thread you choose to nominate or second. Please don't use this opportunity to hurt or deflate someone. So start your nominating!

I second hondobrode's nomination of the Classic Cover Contest thread. Besides being extremely entertaining, it's a great--and succinct--way to be exposed to different classic genres and comics. My curiosity is always sparked by the covers others post, so I always learn something from this thread...and I'd guess others do too.

I'd like to nominate Ish Kabbible's thread Psst...Got Some Underground Comix Here that both he, Rob Allen and others contributed so much about an area of comic culture I was woefully ignorant about. Sure I knew of underground comix and Crumb and such, but their guided tour through so many underground treasures was an eye opener. -M

I know it's in the review thread section, but I'd like to nominate Cei-U's Earth Two thread. I find it more as a reference work than reviews.. which has spun into a wide variety of interesting discussions.

I'm going to nominate What Classic Comics Have You Purchased Lately? I always like to see what's happening in everyone's collection.

I'm going to nominate tolworthy's My theory of the origin of Marvel: complete accident. It's the kind of in-depth, well-informed, original thinking that enthralls me, upsets everything I think I know about comics, and makes me insatiably curious to go back and read them all over again.

I had forgotten how awesome that was, I second this!
