I appear to be stuck again - oscillating between 180.6 and 181. Really struggling to get motivated to get back on the bike - put it off (again) today due to forecast of rain, which (again) didn't materialise.

I was supposed to weigh myself today, but had to run an errand, so missed it. will do it tomorrow, but likely will be retaining some water, since we had Sushi for lunch -- healthy enough, but the soy sauce causes water retention still. .if i can hit my goal, will not worry about Thanksgiving meal!

Gym this morning at stupid o'clock - much more sparsely populated this morning, I guess the crowd from Monday may be doing M/W/F split or just having a burst of enthusiasm from the weekend. My upper arms feel like they've been beaten with mallets, so presumably a good session, though still at the "girlie weight" stage and expect to be suffering by the weekend. Still, pleased with the session, and even more pleased to be restarted on the free weights.
Also, finally back on the bike today for the commute to work. Took it fairly easy and noticeably tentative around corners - still seem to be a bit nervous after "terror Thursday", hopefully that will wear off after a few rides.

So I'm not going to beat myself up about the meal today

Ride into work wasn't great, but ride home was excellent - dry road, which helped a lot, and a mysterious absence of traffic in some of it which also helped.

A day of gym and bike earns me a new low, albeit by the smallest possible margin. So, leaping out of the 180.6 to 181 straight-jacket, I'm down to 180.4 (-39.6)

After Thanksgiving, I went to the gym and walked a couple of miles and check the information board to see if their is a practice today for the All-Star Match on Monday and their were none. Weighed myself and gained a half a pound from yesterday; not bad considering that I usually gain a pound or two after a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
Week 18 – 258.0 Week 19 – 258.5
Planning on taking it easy this weekend and the match on Monday will steer me to the right direction ...

Good luck with the All-Stars tomorrow, Mecha - knock 'em dead (or whatever the Water Polo equivalent of that is: hold them under? grab 'em and drown 'em?)
For me, another family day out yesterday, with two restaurant meals, so pretty pleased to only be 180.6 this morning, which is actually a drop on yesterday morning. Today is another football-supporting day of eating crap, so back on the bike on Monday to work it off.

Good luck with the All-Stars tomorrow, Mecha - knock 'em dead (or whatever the Water Polo equivalent of that is: hold them under? grab 'em and drown 'em?) All-Star MatchStarted around quarter to 10 and ended around 11 AM ... Match was 45 Minutes Long with a 9 Minute Half-Time. We normally (change rules) play 8 minutes quarters - today they added an extra minute to accommodate everyone that attended it. Our team the South lost to the North by a score of 33 to 30 in a very high scoring game. About 3 players on my squad did a hat-trick scoring 3 goals and I assisted on 2 others for 8 points for today. It was a very exciting match and about a crowd of 300+ came to see us play that day. I played mainly in the 1st, and 4th quarters while my backup swam in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. He prefers that and I prefer playing in the 1st and 4th quarters because I like to all out in 4th. I scored 1 goal and assisted on one goal in the 1st; and the remaining two goals and an assist in the 4th. It was a lot of fun and because it was my first year in the league; I certainly enjoyed playing it and it's great for workout and all that. Simon, Water Polo is very much like Soccer and you can't have any contact with another player if you have the ball. Without the ball - you can have some contact but it's restricted and that why we have three referees in the match. You can do some partial grabbing and that's about it. You also need good vision and court sense and aware of your players are and make sound decisions in the water and one more thing use your upper body strength especially your arms to exploit the other team. I work out on weights all the time and do abs crunches to help me stabilize myself in the water. On a typical week - I swim an equivalent of 5 miles a week. That's why I don't do anything else.

Wussed out of the cycling yesterday as the conditions were a bit dicey - fairly heavy rain showers and 40-50mph winds - I prefer my biking when it's not a bike/windsurf cross-over event.
Got back on the bike today - damp roads, slight rain and, just for a change, heavy head & cross-winds, though nothing like as bad as yesterday. Went OK, but I'm not expecting to set any speed records for the next several months.#
After a bad, bad weekend for calorie control, and a nothing day yesterday, I'm glad to be burning calories again instead of stuffing my face with them. My weight has been on a slight up-trend this last week, so I'm intending a concerted assault on 180lbs this week - currently at 180.8 after days of yo-yoing around

I'm definitely seeing an opportunity for a full-contact version of this - a cross between water polo and roller derby or ice hockey (though the skates might be a bit of a disadvantage in the pool ). Hmm... unless part of the pool had some ice floes ... Having said that, I have seen adverts for underwater rugby, which may well have already cornered the swimming pool-based violence market.
