Okay, back from vacation and back on track. I'd bet dollars to donuts that at some point during my vacation I was down to 209 or even 208; the last couple days of my trip I ate about as badly as humanly possible, and not entirely by choice, thanks to some airport and airplane fiascoes. But, I'm happy with the progress nonetheless. Looking forward to seeing 209 on my scale.

A weekend of my personal Kryptonite - a family visit with lashings of trifle and steamed pudding (though no ginger beer). Unsuprisingly, I am no longer under 186 Today, back on the programme - cycle into work was pretty hard going against a strong headwind and felt completely lacking in energy; so, somewhat surprised to have a storming ride home in my fastest time for weeks, including my first ever conquest of the biggest hill for miles around (not exactly the Alpe d'Hueze, but 60+m vertical ascent in 3/4 of a mile was plenty for me) - pretty pleased with that overall. We will glide swiftly past the bit where I fell over in traffic (again) when I got blocked by a car and couldn't unclip my pedals in time.

Day 159
Today's weigh-in: 230.5 lbs (-2 lbs from yesterday, +5.5 from all-time low)
34.5 lbs down / 50.5 lbs to go
I'd expected to be 229 today, so this is s bit of a setback, and you guys KNOW how I feel about finding myself around the 230 mark, so I can't say I'm happy this morning. At this rate, it may take going Spartan for Wednesday and Thursday to get me to a new all-time low by the end of the week, and I'd kind of hoped not to have to do that this week. Oh well.

I played a short game today and I got called away for a personal emergency this morning and left my backup and and extra player to finish the remaining 3 quarters of the game today. Later on, I stopped by before heading home to see who won and we did by the score of 14 to 11. Our record stands at 7 Wins and 1 Loss. My Coach informed me today - that we are playing on Friday this week and that's will give me extra chance to lose more weight. Rare 3 games this week.

Once I get the keys working to the 40 lb club again, I'll be sure to get a seat reserred for you, Simon Garth .
MG hope all is well with that personal emergency.

At the moment I'd be happy to get into the 35lb club, never mind the 40 - I need to hit 185 for the former. On the basis that "I wouldn't join any club that would have me as a member", the 35 club must be really excellent, as it's really determined not to let me in!

Oh yeah, I'm a senior member there. Trick with that club is they're just an inbetween for social climbers. Worry less about them and start thinking about the 40. Meanwhile, give yourself some credit for being a Senior Member of the 30 club

And with one mighty leap, I'm through the 186 barrier! Again. For the 3rd time, actualy, albeit one of those in the wrong direction. But, now I'm down to 185.4 (a new low, just), and knock knock knocking on heaven's door. Well, if not exactly heaven's door, then at least the door of the 35 club, anyway - where the doorman is still looking at me with a superior expression and telling me it's members only.
Determined to get into that club (and drag it down to my level) this week.

albeit one of those in the wrong direction. Careful, lest you go take a wrong direction again, there! Seriously, congrats, my friend. Keep it up

Day 160
Today's weigh-in: 226 lbs (-4.5 lbs from yesterday, +1 from all-time low)
39 lbs down / 46 to go
Wow. I always knew it was salt, water retention, and undigested food that added all the weight each weekend, but I've never seen so much of it come off in a single day before. I didn't go spartan or anything. Wild.
So two days left to lose 2 or more lbs. I don't feel pressure to lose more than 1 lb net this week, for some reason. 224 lbs would be a pretty cool place for me to be. I'll see if I feel like going spartan today, but I know what that's been doing to me afterward, so I'll probably take a more reasonable approach to the rest of the week and see what I can lose that way.

Wow. I haven't checked in for a long while, and it's so AWESOME to see you all doing so well!
I'm still working and still losing.

I'm still working and still losing. One of the few times in our lives where I am so glad we're all such big losers

9/20: 244.8# 9/23: 244.8# 9/27: 246.2# 10/4: 244.4# 10/8: 242.6# 10/14: 241.0# 10/24: 235.2# 10/28: 232.8# -- so down a total of 12lbs from when I started 5 weeks ago. I likely could be dropping more if I were doing some exercise other than my nightly walk with the dog.. but fitting in time is just so tough. But at least I've succeeded in changing some eating habits: we had Jimmy Johns last night (i had turkey/cucumber/avocado). but I immediately cut the sub in 1/2 and only ate that for dinner (with a salad) and will have the other half for lunch today. INSTEAD of eating the whole thing

But at least I've succeeded in changing some eating habits: I'm in the same boat, but I started planking a few weeks back (90 seconds twice a day, though you may need to start lower), and that has boosted my weight loss, waist loss, and energy, plus all that work on my abs has curbed my hunger quite a bit.
