Day 102Yesterday was crazy. I had a meeting after work that ran until 5:30, there was an accident on the highway that turned a twenty minute commute into a ninety minute commute, I still had to get to the supermarket to get more fresh food for my diet after that, I got home at 7:30 only to have a neighbor politely complain that we had tree-sized weeds we hadn't seen encroaching upon her yard, so I ended up spending an hour out there sawing, cutting, and cleaning, then I had to first cook my food for the next three days, and I didn't actually get to eat until 8:30pm. Keep in mind that I only eat twice a day and that the previous time had been at 12pm! But I did it. I didn't cheat; I didn't make poor decisions. I wasn't even tempted to. When I've been this good on the diet for this many days, I don't really seem to get hungry anymore. I just get weak and know I should eat something. So, when I'd finally finished cooking all the food I'd eat for the next three days, I passed on half of my dinner, realizing full well I'd be in bed in an hour anyway. I did feel a little hungry going to bed, but I knew I could handle it. So the end result... Today's weigh-in: 232 lbs (-2 lbs from yesterday) New low!33 lbs down, 52 to go Too bad I've got a birthday party tonight. I'll definitely choose to go off diet. Still, if I could have the weekend I had last weekend--going to event after event, cheating the entire time since I was in someone else's home for the weekend, and temporarily gaining back six lbs--and still end up here five days later, I guess I have nothing to be all that worried about. Way to go Shax! You're the Dr. Doom of dieting again. We can rule Latveria together, my friend. Whenever you're ready to make the supreme effort again, I've got your back.

After multiple bike issues, I finished only my 2nd day of cycling for this week - went OK (and no griping from my knees, which was a definite plus point), but bike is not happy and it's not much fun to ride it: front and rear gears are jumping, slipping and scraping, all of which means I had to take it fairly easy. Was only going to get in 2 days next week anyway due to public holiday and other issues, so I'm going to call a halt to the cycling now and get the bike serviced ready to pick up when I come back from my holiday. Weight not co-operating much the last couple of days - after getting down to 196.4, 2 consecutive up days leave me at 197.4. On the bright side, I noticed today that (a) I'd tightened my belt another notch and that my trousers were decidedly rumpled around the waistband as a result; checked my measurements when I got home and I'm down another inch on my waist size. Getting less like wasteland and more like waist-band All in all, fed up with the bike, neutral on the weight, but happy with the waist measurement.

The second day in a row that I road to work. This time , I took a shorter route but with a tougher climb. Down 2 pounds but it's the same 2 I keep gaining and losing.

Took bike into be serviced yesterday, so precious little exercise; as ever, struggled to keep the calories down without the cycling, so this morning I weighed in at .... 13st 13.4 lbs. Yeah, I realise that that number doesn't mean a lot Over There in the The Land of Weird Counting Systems, but they key point is that it starts with a 13 and not a 14 (or the 15 that I started with). In American money, that's 195.4 lbs, and puts me through this month's target with a whole 2 days to go. Or, to put it another way...

Went to visit a friend for the weekend, which meant going completely off the rails for a couple meals. Nothing that will have any long term effects, but I cringe to think what the scale will look like for the next couple days.

They're also the first two pounds you'll lose before dropping fifteen lbs in one amazing stretch of effort and awesomeness. This can be that stretch, my friend. It's all up to you

Day 105
I think it just makes sense to cheat on the weekend. I get the cravings out of the way, realize (once again) that it never ends up feeling good, and crave getting back on the diet and feeling good again by Sunday each time. So I went into this weekend with the express intent of cheating a little less than I did last weekend (I put on 6 lbs that took me three days to lose) but to still cheat and not worry about weighing in either. I think I found a good balance.
Today's weigh-in: 235 lbs (+3 lbs from Friday)
30 lbs down / 65 lbs to go
Hey, I only put on half the weight I did last weekend, so I should be able to take it off again in half the time and still come out much lighter at the end of this week. Best yet, I'm really craving that healthy taste and feeling again. I'm ready to make this the week that I fall into the 220s.

Wow, that's a nice community thread, I like the spirit. Altough I've never went into deep wheight trouble, I started touring heavily 3-4 years ago with my band, starting at 6.3 Ft for 170 Ibs. last January, I was almost up to 210 mostly due to hotel and restaurent food. So I just cut on sugar in everything : no more pressed juices (biggest trap!), pop or dairies (cheese, milk or butter), mostly eat apples, pears, nuts, kiwis, raisins, lentils, avocado, paprika, hard bread, salmon, ginger, naturally bred chicken, berries, rice, some bacon, broccolis, olive oil and buter beans. I didn't do any special exercise appart from the actual daily walking I already did, and within 2 and a half to three months, I reached a healthy 185Ibs that I can easily hold with occasional exesses

Yeah my biggest problem is processed carbs. Added sugar in drinks is a problem too.

As it is indeed often difficult to find regular food without added sugar in the regular outlets, I just read everything on it, and if the sugar ratio is over 9g per 100G, I just skip it. But really, drinking a 40cl glass of freshly squeezed apple or orange juice in the morning seemed like a good healthy idea until I realized that it meant squeezing 4-5 fruits to drink it within 5 mn. ... I don't eat 4-5 apples in a row, not even 3, maybe 2, then I'm sustained. So no more of that pattern helped a lot. A good thing with living in the forest in sweden though, is I get my own water from my well, so I don't need to buy any. Water is good! Oh one thought though I know that bread isn't the best for weight loss, but when I was living in France, the regular bread people buy everyday doesn't have any added sugar, 0%! Here in Sweden it's mostly soft bread, with added sugar, unless you favor certain types of hard bread. But in the morning, one of the regular diets is cereal filled soft bread with ham or the like. I can only imagine the difference in sugar ratio in the sotf breads in the US. Here in Sweden it's usually around 8-9%. How is it there? Man, I remember (and miss?) my old skateboarding days... Just riding it in the street regularly was enough to maintain good abs!
