I had a terrible day today. I ate bread 5 separate times. I knew it was trouble when I bought fresh baked bread Sunday. I seriously have to go cold turkey on bread if I'm to get back on track.

First ride in cleats yesterday. Went really well, but some knee soreness today. Also fell off once when I couldn't detach in time More amusing than painful, luckily. New low today on the weight: 198.0

Day 92
Today's weigh-in: 236 (-1 lb from yesterday)
29 lbs down / 56 to go
Almost completely back from the detour I took this week due to all sorts of special occasion stuff. School starts Thursday, and I should be 235 or less by then. Already got a plan in place to stay on diet while at school, but it still remains to be seen whether or not I can stick to it once I'm back on a work schedule. Certainly, my wife will want to eat out for dinner more often as cooking every night would be an insane demand to place upon her, and I'm not sure I'll be up for cooking meals I cannot eat.
We'll see what the school year brings but, no matter what, I lost thirty pounds this summer. Seriously.

I was Today was my last day off with the wife (she has a full day meeting tomorrow, and I start school Thursday). So we spent the morning walking the town, and stopped to try a new local sandwich shop. The sandwich was HUGE, but we'd walked over a mile, and I was hungry, so I ate the whole thing. Was back on diet for the evening, but then my wife asked me to continue taking down the vines overrunning the rear of our house, and it was intense physical work. I was exhausted and starving after. I ate some healthy leftovers in the fridge, was still hungry, and then went on to eat unhealthy leftovers. I ate so much bad stuff that my body just all-out rejected some of it (you don't need to know the details). My diet works very well for a sedentary lifestyle. It does not provide me with enough nourishment to replenish after hard physical work. I need to have a plan for that in the future. So I'm expecting tomorrow to not be a good weigh in.

Shax, you're still on the target. One bad afternoon/evening will be washed away with the following days. But as an aside, I'm just amazed that you have lost 30 with almost any exercise.

I had noisy neighbors last night - making a racket and the police were summoned and three people got arrested for distribuing the peace and combined that with a very late dinner - I didn't feel like working out today. I had to stand outside by the patrol cars because one of my neighbor had a knife in his hand. I had to wait 40 minutes before I was let go and re-enter my condo.

Good news: down to 197.4 this morning. Bad news: after another two rides on the bike, my knee hurts like hell. I've had the cleats adjusted a bit, but don't know whether that will have done the job - unless it's a lot better I'm going to skip the bike ride tomorrow. Other good news: I didn't fall off this time!

It's definitely the cleats. I was watching my feet carefully as I rode yesterday, and I could see/feel that my left foot was turned in a bit, and that's obviously been putting pressure on my knee. My knee's not too bad this morning, but I'm going to give it a rest for today; I had the cleats adjusted yesterday evening, I'll have a short ride this evening to see if the angle is better or whether it needs more adjustment.
For all that the cleats make the ride a lot more effective, this is the other side of it - if they're not spot on, they can put a lot of pressure on the knees, so I want to make sure they're dead right before I ramp back up to commuting

Day 94
Today's weigh-in: 235 (-1 lb from yesterday)
30 lbs down / 55 to go
Today is the first day back to school, so I am weighing myself hours earlier than I normally would. I am absolutely sure I would have made it to 234 if I'd waited until 10am, but I'll be weighing myself far earlier in the morning from now on.
Got my food ready to go for work today. Jimmy Johns will be at school offering free samples, and colleagues will want to go out to lunch. I'm going to resist the Jimmy Johns offer, but if the right colleagues want to do lunch, well I haven't seen them for three months now.

Swam 10 laps and walked 2 miles today. Had to stop at 10 laps because of the pool is being used for a swim practice by a local high school team that uses the pool during the off-season. I find it rather odd indeed.
