I often snack on turkey meat bites. But the store was out, so my husband bought the turkey in full sausage form. I just tried to eat a slice, and believe it or not, the texture is different than the bite size. I almost died. I couldn't get it out of my mouth fast enough. Oh, god, it was so gross. I cannot eat it like that. The only other food texture that throws me off and grosses me out is jello and jello-like foods.

I like all the suggestions.
1. I'm afraid of eating frosted mini wheats because of the sugar. It will make me crave more.
2. I eat fruit throughout the day. Oranges , apples, grapes, bananas. It fills me and it's good for fiber.

If you want fiber for digestive reasons, bananas actually have a tendency towards binding. But they're so very good for their potassium. That reminds me: Shax, When you start exercising, make sure you are getting plenty of potassium. Bananas are almost a staple in my daily diet because I will get muscle cramps from working out and delayed restlessness and muscle cramps at night time. Bananas have helped GREATLY with this.

The frosted mini wheats keep my sugar level stable throughout the day. When I have fruit, my sugar spikes somewhat, which is why I save it for after-dinner desert. It's a myth that fruit is plainly "good for you". It has great vitamin content and is good for you in limited doses, but too much fruit is not a good thing. The old adage of eating your fruits and veggies is inaccurate. It's hard to overdo veggies to the point that it's unhealthy. it's very easy to overdo fruit.

Do you know what's nice? I'm sitting here, at work, feeling hungry and, rather than going to one of my readily available snacks, I'm content in looking forward to lunch today. Looking forward to lunch. I haven't had that experience in months (even well before the diet). Glad my daily diet isn't a miserable experience anymore

If you need something to snack on during the day try Plain Celery, it is a "free" food. Celery has absolutely no calories and actually requires more calories to chew it than the Celery supplies so you can eat as much as you like with no adverse consequences and it may satisfy your craving to eat or to be eating. Science says: Total myth. Nothing else to be said.

They're a little more substantive, and the calorie count isn't that much higher.

Man, was feeling so satisfied from a filling and tasty lunch today that I decided to have only one chicken breast for dinner, coupled with a heaping pile of steamed spinach. I ran the numbers for my dietary shift and came up with the following totals for today (assuming I have pineapple slices for desert):
Calories for today: 1029 total fat: 46.25% recommended daily allowance saturated fat: 36.5% cholesterol: 53% sodium: 94.5% Potassium: 56% (maybe I'll eat a banana tonight) dietary fiber: 55% Protein: 100% (probably higher, as I confused % recommended daily allowance with actual grams in some of these figures) vitamin A: 558% vitamin C: 335% calcium: 141% (I may need to back off on my supplement) iron: 86% vitamin D: 123% vitamin B-6: 199% vitamin B-12: 270% magnesium: 95%
Amazing that I can feel more satisfied than I have since the first day of this diet and be consuming numbers as low as these. I guess this is proof that I need to be open to changing up my diet more often.
In fact, tomorrow, I think I'll do a cheese sandwich for lunch (with three hedonistic slices of American cheese) instead of the PB&J.
By the way, I checked the scale when I got home again: still 251 lbs. Does that mean I'll hit the big 250 tomorrow?

After not working out on the gazelle since SUNDAY, my back felt well enough to use it today. My adjustment was just really tough on my back this week.

It's only 1 pound but 209 is a much more awesome number than 210. I'm looking for 209.

My yearly class reunion is this weekend. I'm preparing to drink, but I have to watch my food intake.
