Weird. Just weighed myself again, and I'm now 264 lbs. Keep in mind, I weigh myself five times to make sure it's no accident or error. So, 2 hours after gorging a serving of mac n cheese, I have lost a pound and a half? I definitely used the restroom a lot, but I really didn't expect this! Passed the 265 mark. I have reached a major milestone in my weight loss when I least expected to. Ha, I guess your body is still eliminating from the months of excess. I dispute that weighing in first thing in the morning is a false number, but why argue with success? Rock on man.

I dispute that weighing in first thing in the morning is a false number, but why argue with success? You're at your lightest for the day because your body has been fasting all night. I weighed myself in the morning 4 years ago, but it always felt like a lie. I'd feel GREAT about weighing 248 lbs, go to the doctor, and get told I'm 251. So now, when I say I'm 264, I know I'm 264 at most, and that makes a huge difference to me personally. Thanks for the encouragement!

My research indicates that the body eliminates the weight while you sleep in the form of sweat and you will get an accurate reading. I used to weigh in multiple times during the day and found the weight would fluctuate depending when I ate last or if I spent the whole day sweating in the sun. I keep it simple and do it when I wake and sometimes, after I eliminate In the A.M. But you are doing great, it seems that you have learned everything the last time you were here and it's easier applying what you know this time around. The only thing that I noticed with you and me the last time, was that we cheat too much on the weekend. It's better to be consistent all 7 days.

My intent is to do a lot less of that this time. Last weekend, the combination of Eastee and my daughter's birthday presented some unique challenges, but I still only seriously cheated on one meal. I wouldnt say I've learned anywhere near everything, but I definitely know a lot more about myself and this diet this time around.

It’s like driving to a location you don’t know for the first time. You might get lost or take detours, but the second and third time , you have more confidence and know the road a lot better. From dieting down before, you know what works and what to avoid.

From dieting down before, you know what works and what to avoid. That's actually brilliant. I'm going to remember that. Thanks!

Day 11
4/13: 278 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/15: 277 lbs, 51.5" diameter 4/16: 273 lbs, 50.5" diameter 4/17: 270 lbs, 49.5" diameter 4/18: 271 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/19: 268 lbs, 48.5" diameter 4/20: 267.5 lbs, 49.0" diameter 4/21 270.5 lbs, 50" diameter 4/22 268 lbs, 51" diameter 4/23 267 lbs, 49" diameter 4/24 265.5 lbs, 48" diameter 4/25 264 lbs, 48" diameter
Feeling bloated and unable to use the restroom tonight, so I'm willing to bet my numbers should actually be a little lower than this. I definitely take in too much dietary fiber, which can cause constipation, but I do so love my food.
Ah well. Still making progress!

Day 12
4/13: 278 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/15: 277 lbs, 51.5" diameter 4/16: 273 lbs, 50.5" diameter 4/17: 270 lbs, 49.5" diameter 4/18: 271 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/19: 268 lbs, 48.5" diameter 4/20: 267.5 lbs, 49.0" diameter 4/21 270.5 lbs, 50" diameter 4/22 268 lbs, 51" diameter 4/23 267 lbs, 49" diameter 4/24 265.5 lbs, 48" diameter 4/25 264 lbs, 48" diameter 4/26 263.5 lbs, 49" diameter
Made the purposeful choice to have a little yellow rice with dinner tonight, fully realizing the sodium content was going to throw me off far more than the carbs. No doubt the lack of clear progress today stems from water retention. No big problem.
Tomorrow will present eating challenges again. We are having friends over and will have plenty of bad food for them to enjoy. I also prepared healthy meals for my girlfriend and myself and tons of healthy fruit to snack on, but I am definitely going to allow myself to cheat a little. Just not going to go totally off diet the way I would do four years ago.
I'm realizing tonight that I haven't been myself lately. I've been depressed, moody, and tonight I was outright rude on multiple occasionswithout even realizing it until much later. I'm wondering if this is diet-related...

Yes, lots of mood changes as your body is being deprived. 15 pound in 13 days is excellent.

I haven’t check in here in a while. But first good to hear sharper and Mecha’s success. Good to hear guys.
As far as myself, I haven’t been consistent on my diet in probably the last 3-4 months. I eat as best I can every chance I get but many days/nights with all the shit that’s been going on I’m to tired to prep a salad or bake some chicken, etc and end up eating half a frozen pizza with my wife. That said I’m still managing to fluxuate between 180-185lbs somehow.
Couple that with keep no more liquor in the house (a long story I may share one day) I’m left to beer when I want some drinks.
Plus side though, with spring here I’m going to get my bike fixed and try to work in a weekly routine with that. I maybe tired some evenings after work but I really enjoy biking. Put some music on and feel the wind in your face. So I think that will help too.

Just back from a month in NZ and Oz - came back ~5 pounds lighter, now down to 192, which is the lowest I've been for months. Also fired up to lose more weight and keep going on the bike

Day 13
4/13: 278 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/15: 277 lbs, 51.5" diameter 4/16: 273 lbs, 50.5" diameter 4/17: 270 lbs, 49.5" diameter 4/18: 271 lbs, 50.0" diameter 4/19: 268 lbs, 48.5" diameter 4/20: 267.5 lbs, 49.0" diameter 4/21 270.5 lbs, 50" diameter 4/22 268 lbs, 51" diameter 4/23 267 lbs, 49" diameter 4/24 265.5 lbs, 48" diameter 4/25 264 lbs, 48" diameter 4/26 263.5 lbs, 49" diameter 4/27 267.5 lbs, 48" diameter
Made the conscious decision to go partially off-diet today. I began healthy, and when we had friends over, I allowed myself to indulge. Not the level of indulging I used to do ALL weekend long 4 years ago, but slices pieces of pizza, a bowl of pasta in a heavy cream sauce, and some cookies and chips. I ate all I wanted, really, and all that I wanted wasn't too terrible. I have no regrets.
It's also interesting to get a sense of how much of my weight loss is true loss, and how much is retained water and undigested food. I put on 4 lbs in a single day -- that tells me I've really only truly lost around 10 lbs thus far. But really, only two weeks in, that's still not bad at all!
The real key is I'm not suffering this time. The mood swings are a real problem, but otherwise I'm content. It's not an unpleasant chore. And while cheating was fun today, getting back on track tomorrow is going to feel great too.

I weighed in at 201.8 this morning. I’m not really dieting, other than just taking my lunch with me everyday.
204 201.8
