I weighed in at 204 this morning. Despite my ankle injury, I didn't balloon past the 210's and am ready to cut the carbs. Over the years in doing low carb, I've learned to stay away from sugar in most of it's forms so It's always easier for me to jump on board. Good Luck everyone.

and I KNEW I had put back on some weight. I had lost 70lbs and kept it off for almost 2 years, and tho I knew I was gaining, I simply couldn't get motivated to get back on plan. You made amazing progress, my friend. I'm impressed that you only backslid part of the way before deciding to do something about it again! Wish I'd acted sooner, myself. Holy cow, I'm not the only Jew in this community?!

My weight usually flies off when I cut bread and sugar. Bread is the tough one.

So wow. First morning of the diet. I feel sooooo relaxed, almost high. Guessing it's the combined lack of sugar and my body adjusting to the nutritional changes. My body feels a lot better, but I'm as aware as ever of how big and uncomfortable my belly has grown. I crossed the line into obese years and years and years ago, but I feel like I crossed an entirely different line this year into a whole other level of obese that has never been me and doesn't feel right for me at all. I can't wait to cross back. This just doesn't feel like my body.
I had every legitimate excuse in the world to put on all that weight over the past two years, but now I have no excuse for not doing something about it. My world is back in place, things are going right, and I'm ready to feel good again.

My weight usually flies off when I cut bread and sugar. Bread is the tough one. I avoid eating Hamburgers and Hot Dogs ... and I don't eat Hot Dogs anymore and I always have Hamburgers without the Bun and instead I put grilled onions and peppers on top of them and eat like that. Breads especially white are not good food to eat when you are trying to lose weight.

Not all breads are created equal. I allow myself two slices per day of non-enriched wheat bread. I still end up with less than 50% of the prescribed daily allotment of carbs.
Avoiding sugar, though? Very good idea. Even fruit is better in moderation, but especially anything that has had sugar added to it.

On the plus side thus far, every one of my meals has been so damn satisfying. My eldest daughter wanted part of my chicken breast fried in soy sauce and cumin last night, my youngest wanted some of my vanilla greek yogurt and sliced banana this morning, and I just snuck a bite of my lentil/worcester sauce/honey spread on wheat bread planned for lunch.
On the minus side, being hungry is so weird and challenging when you've spent two years stuffing your face at every opportunity. I'm going to try to remind myself how unpleasant it feels to be too full and hold onto that as strength for the hunger pains.

if you get a hunger pang. . drink some water.
yes, you'll have to pee a lot, but your body will quickly get used to the extra water.
I carry around a 32 oz cup of water, and refill it several times thruout the day. it helps.

I also try to space out planned snacks in order to regulate sugar levels. And I'm STILL hungry. Fortunately, lunch time is ten minutes away!

Ugh. Still hungry. I need to learn how to get used to this feeling again. I eat about 4 light meals a day ... every 6 hours and those meals around 300 calories ... plus and minus 30. About the bread part that you posted ... I avoid White Bread and eat moderately of whole (I avoid having bread if contains any amount of sugar) grain wheat that are organic and I eat about 2 slices every other day. It's hard to do and it's challenging to make an effort to stick a diet and exercise program at the same time.

Ugh. Still hungry. I need to learn how to get used to this feeling again. Eat protein. I'm already getting 110% of my recommended daily allowance. The issue isn't nutritional; I'm just not used to not being full all the time. This should get easier with time once I remember what it's like to eat reasonable amounts again.
