Nice going Bert, and shopping for new clothes is a reward itself!

I'm in the same boat - the missus bought me some shirts to replace some of the too-large ones I donated to charity, and gave them to me today. All size Large, all too big! Swapped them for Mediums, all pretty roomy but certainly fitting a lot better than the Larges

I weigh in tomorrow. I have 3 days after today to make 198 and I will admit to feeling anxious the night before I weigh in. Today I rode 12.4 miles on my bike and I'm hoping to see something good on the scale.

Wow. I'm really proud of you guys and the amazing progress you've made since I checked in last! If there's one thing I've learned, it's the importance of sticking to it and reaping the long term gains. A round of applause for you all.
I'm back. I hit a very hard brick wall last time around, got very frustrated and down with myself, and figured that if I went back to regular eating for a while, I could only gain so much weight back.
Wrong.
I regained everything. Well, all but one pound.
So here I am, trying again. I'll begin by following the same methods I used last time. They worked for 8 months, after all. As I go though, I'll work on how to adapt this thing so that it's more sustainable this time. Now you guys know that I'm far from invincible as a dieter, so that will help, and my wife has promised to be more supportive of my efforts this time too. I've been really sick for a long while now and, while the weight was not the cause, taking it off and eating healthier is certainly going to help.
So here I am. Day 0: Starting weight is 264 lbs.

How long did it take you to gain it back? Since you did gain it back, why not try something slightly different this time? Mix in some different exercise or times if possible? or add in a different type of meal? just some suggestions. . wishing you best of luck. The support here is a big part of it, made me feel "accountable"

I have achieved my first goal. I have lost 20.2 pounds in 29 days for the arrival of my brother in law today. My new low is 198.6!!!!!! My weight loss has slowed since the first 3 weeks but I feel strong and now I aim to roll in some occasional red meat. The danger in the next 2 weeks is that with the house guests, I will be tempted to slip but I have a new goal of 189 that I would like to see by October 1st.
7-27-16. 218.8 8-1-16. . 210.8 8-4-16. 208.8 8-8 16- 206.4 8-11-16 202.8 8-15-16 202.6 8-18-16 201 8-22-16 199.8 8-25-16 198.6

Mix in some different exercise or times if possible? or add in a different type of meal? It's still the most success I've ever experienced with weight loss. I was able to sustain it for 8 months and lost over 40 lbs, so I figure it's a good place to start again, but I need to adapt it as I go to make it more sustainable this time, or at least figure out a better step-down program at the end. I do want to exercise, but right now I'm ill, and that makes exercise a struggle. Plus time has always been a factor for me. I love to swim, but finding a time to do it consistently has proven improbable thus far.

It's something low impact, something I can maintain, and I'm willing to do it in the evenings (or daytime if work is slow). that's what's worked for me to help maintain. you can do it Shax..if *I* can, then you can

A month ago I analyzed my eating diary from last year and saw why I failed. I was flirting with bad food during the week, and having a free for all during the weekends, thinking that I would just make up for it during the week. Thus I was going down and up and not committing to my eating plan. This year I cut out the foods that hurt my weight loss even on the weekends and had a consistent month. I also added weight lifting and a few bike rides in along the way. This month I lost 20.2 pounds so far and I plan to lose 10 pounds next month. I have listened to videos of bodybuilders to gain their knowledge of eating and motivation. I plan on sticking to my plan until I reach 175.
I realize that I can't eat refined carbs and sugar based foods and reach my goals, so I totally have to stay away from them. Shax , it might help you to analyze the past year in this thread and see if you can zig where you zagged.

Great job to all CCFers, I haven't read all 100 pages of the thread but it sounds like quite a bit of weight has been lost. Congrats!
I'm kind of getting to the point where my metabolism has really slowed down and whereas I used to be able to "hide" the beer belly, that may no longer be the case.
At a recent Doctor visit a month ago, I weighed in at 208...a staggering number for me to comprehend as I generally never have had to worry about weight much.
I've made some dietary changes. I quit drinking soda, cut out fast food, and no more chips, bread and sugary junk. I also no longer eat after dinner and am using Garcinia Cambogia as a dietary supplement.
One month later, and I first noticed my beer belly shrink a good bit. Last week I checked my weight I went down to 201. Great! But after a weekend of beer and pizza, I'm back up to 204. Nooooo!
So I understand that this is harder than I thought. I will read the thread to get some ideas you guys are using, as well as being more active. That is a problem for me since I work a desk job now and have to get kids to soccer, gymnastics, dance, etc. I have no time to work out it seems, but I know I'll have to make time somehow. I do hike on the weekends with my dog but it's going to take more than that. My goal right now is to get under 200, then shoot for 185ish.
Also, if you're putting Ground Cumin in your yogurt I have a profound respect for you. Blech!
