Ted Cruz lies about Planned ParenthoodBut I admit he's not so bad for a GOP presidential candidate. Just average.

It saddens me that I found myself agreeing with Walker. But when Trump claimed McCain wasn't a war hero because he got captured and spent 5 years as a POW in Vietnam, Walker's response was basically what I was thinking. Trump needs to apologize. I didn't vote for McCain and disagree with almost everything he's ever said, but his war record is beyond reproach.
Trump is a joke. Not a funny one, more like a practical joke in poor taste. So far, he never had the Latino vote, and really doesn't now, and he's lost at least some of the veterans' votes. Who'll he alienate next?

Reading this makes me sad that I was ever registered Republican (although that was well over a decade ago, before the entire party tacked hard right and went completely cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs), although I only chose a party so I could participate in primaries.

I heard somewhere that Trump, McCain, Jeb and Walker decided to call a truce because they lost track of who was rubber and who was glue.

New national GOP primary poll by ABC and the WaPo:
Looks like the base is really not that excited about Jeb Bush, and being a racist ass hat has given Trump a surge. 11 points is the highest lead any of them has had so far this season.

I voted for Dan Quayle for the Senate in 1982. I was 18 and I had just started college and I was voting for the first time.
I look back and remember how adamant the GOP supporters in my family were. They didn't just disagree with the Dems, they had to call them traitors and fools and bleeding hearts.
I guess I was still buying it when I was 18. But by 1984 I had seen the Republicans for what they were, and 1982 was the only time I ever voted GOP.

I was pretty much the same way. My parents were Republicans and so by default, I was going to register as one as well. Early on I would vote straight ticket, but over time, I started voting for the candidate that I thought was better, regardless of party. If the Republicans returned to conservative fiscal policies while becoming more moderate with their social positions, I could see myself voting for them again, primarily because I'm not a fan at all of the Democrat's economic positions. However, as long as the Republicans make every election about the wedge social issues and which one can best court the hardcore Religious Right group, I'll either vote for third party candidates or just not vote at all.

As an educator, I'm not a fan. She has too many ties to Pearson, common core and charter schools.

My parents were not really affiliated either way, never voted and just complained about everybody. My oldest brother ended up staunchly Republican. The first election that I could vote in was when Reagan ran in 1980. That confirmed me beyond any doubt that I would vote Democrat, which has been the case for the most part ever since. I've only voted for two Republicans ever. Tommy Thompson was, when he was Governor of Wisconsin, reasonable and moderate seeming, and did a good job as Governor, so I voted for him. The other was my current next door neighbor who I've lived next to for almost 20 years. He's an ex-Marine and a good guy, despite Republican leanings, and he's only an Alderman, so he can't do too much damage. Plus he doesn't complain if I don't mow the lawn or rake up the leaves promptly.

Was she the one who wore that purple-heart Band-Aid during the 2004 election?
