Templesmith's artwork is perfect for horror books. He captures the mood perfectly. I also really liked the Andrea Sorrentino variant for Gotham By Midnight #1.

Does Christmas Eve falling on a Wednesday have an effect on when new books show up?

Does Christmas Eve falling on a Wednesday have an effect on when new books show up? I'm sure Diamond will simply switch to a different delivery service:

I don't think I have anything for this week. Hellboy&BPRD maybe, but probably wait for trade for that.

Finally got a chance to check out Gotham by Midnight #1 and quite liked it. -M I read mine last night... it was OK... I didn't love the art, but it's in interesting premise, though, and it's nice to see DC breaking some boundaries, even if they feel they have to put Gotham in the title.

See I really like Templesmith's art, very moody and atmospheric, a perfect fit for a supernatural procedural...

Ben Templesmith is something of an acquired taste, I couldn't get into his work at first either and if Gotham was a traditional capes book I probably wouldn't care for it but as it's nontraditional his murky atmospheric look works really well. I ended up grabbing the last copy tonight. I figure since I didn't much like Mignola's work at first either but now love it this may grow on me as well.

It's very stylized, and the anatomy is all wrong but it still tells the story well and as I said I don't think there is anyone better at creating atmosphere.

Templesmith is a madman.
Pretty sure he worked on 30 Days of Night as well as Wormwood Gentleman, which was creepy, funny and unique.
