Just read through Five Ghosts #13-new arc is off to a strong start, more pulp horror than previous arcs, but that's not a bad thing. Also read Lazarus #12 and this arc is also shaping up to be a doozy. We are really getting a sense of the larger world Rucka ad Lark have built with this storyline. Great stuff that I am really enjoying.

And I don't think I have anything for this week. Which is nice to catch up on older stuff.

2 X-books and Southern Bastards are the only ones that leap out for this week, though I'll probably read a few more.

Oh yeah, forgot to do my shopping list this week....
Small week in floppies but an Epic Collection makes it still a pricey week.
The Iron Man epic collecting the early ToS comes out and I preordered it, so I will be picking it up.
Other stuff- Phantom #1 by Peter David and Sal Velluto form Hermes Press Chaykin's Shadow: Midnight in Moscow #5 from Dynamite Groo vs. Conan #4 form Dark Horse
the rest is stuff I have dropped from my pull this week, but I had when they were ordered, so I will pick up because I dd technically pre-order them, was the only pull at the shop for both, and didn't drop them before the shop could make FOC adjustments. They will be the last issue of each I get though. -Conan the Avenger #7 -Elektra 7

I really wish the Epic line wasn't focusing on uncollected/out of print stuff first. I kinda want to get that first JiM/Thor collection, since the first omnibus is like $300 now, but that'll leave an eleven issue gap which I'll be dealing with for years, I'm sure. Plus, I'm sure as soon as I buy the Epic I'll happen upon the first omnibus at a reasonable price.
edit: I have the Essentials, so I could read the "missing" issues in that but I find Thor really hard to read in b&w for some reason.

Bruce Timm drawing a Captain America story written by Stan Lee in Marvel 75th Anniversary Celebration #1 is definitely worth checking out.

I said in another thread that I'd read Mark Waid's Thrillbent Comics when they were published in print form.
Bleeding Cool is reporting that Empire II and Insufferable will be published by IDW in the Spring.

So… Marvel is teasing its next event with posters highlighting returns to past themes (I like the Spider-man one with Peter, MJ and their decidedly not dead daughter) and with a particularly worrying blank page saying "Everything ends".
I sincerely hope it's not anything like Crisis on Infinite Marvel Earths. I do not mind new takes on old series that aren't tied to established continuity; I just don't like reboots that wipe it out. (The Dark Horse Conan series, for example, does not respect the Marvel continuity; but it didn't start with an explicit statement that the Marvel Conan universe was destroyed and rebooted by Gonzo the Great. The Ultimates was a cool cinematic take on the Avengers, but it didn't negate the existence of the actual Avengers).
Comics using continuity well are usually pretty good, but comics about continuity are usually pretty bad.

I really hope that they aren't planning to reboot the Marvel U. For all its flaws, the one aspect of the Marvel Universe that appeals to me over the DC universe is its established history. I'm sure there are those who would argue that the Marvel U has its own share of retcons and continuity gaffes, such that its history is no more or less convoluted that DC's, and I think you could make a fair argument. But still, I think there's enough there in the Marvel U that provides a sense of history, at least more so than DC.

I'd actually take a reboot at this point, if it meant having an Marvel Universe again, instead of the Remender-verse, the Hickman-verse, the Bendis-verse, the other Bendis-verse, etc.
I think a re-boot could be done more like Marvel Ultimate than Crisis, and would work really nicely... you don't have to re-hash the old stories, after all.
