I was reading Daredevil until the newest SF-devil and an extra $1.
I'm supporting the stuff I like better and has more heart IMO, like the entire Valiant line, Project : Black Sky from Dark Horse, the Goon, Hellboy, Mind Mgmt, the Massive, Alex + Ada, Atomic Robo, the Auteur, Cap'n Dinosaur, Deadly Class, Devilers, God is Dead, Judge Dredd, Lady Mechanika, Legenderry, Translucid, and the Dyna-Key titles.
I still like and buy some DC here and there and enjoy it, but Marvel is dead to me for the most part. Not that I don't love the characters, but mostly up to the late 80's with a few exceptions, and the Ultimate line.
If you had to recommend a superhero current ongoing and a non-superhero ongoing, what would they be ?

You mean current stuff? I guess Rat Queens and Afterlife with Archie. I'm also reading Saga, though I would hesitate to call it a favorite.

Ongoing can be a bit of a catch with a lot of indy books, as some are series of minis, some are slotted to be minis and do well and continue and others are slotted to be ongoings but wrap early due to sales or what not. Then there is the finite ongoings (like say Saga that BKV knows how it will end and around what issue it will end, but does a 50 issue planned run count as a mini not an ongoing even if the end was planed from the start? With that in mind, some of my favorite non-big 2 books at the moment... Five Ghosts from Image Velvet from Image Lazarus from Image Robert E. Howard's Savage Sword from Dark Horse plus a few others have mentioned like Afterlife with Archie. Fatale would be on my list, but its next issue is its last, to be replaced by the Fade Out, a new series by Bru and Phillips. -M

My favorite superhero comic is Empowered
Non superhero ongoing would be tough to narrow down. Limiting it to series that are both classic and ongoing (Currently ongoing and in print for ten years or longer) I would be able to narrow it to Love And Rockets and Usagi Yojimbo. With The Walking Dead getting an honorable mention.

I love East of West. Dream Police is fun and I think it'll end up really good or average.Lazarus is interesting. I don't really like any of the characters, but the world is curious. East of West is a favorite. I like the art, the pacing and there's not a single character I don't enjoy.

Life with Archie: The Married Life, for sure. I'm so sad that it's ending, but also glad that the hype Archie's death is generating is drawing new attention to what's been one of my favorite runs in all of comicdom.

I'm reading more Marvel books than ever before Me too Not X-Force? X-Force, Uncanny Avengers and Doop are my only regular Marvel purchases. I read the new X-Force #1 but wasn't really feeling it. What happened to Cable's eye? I am enjoying Uncanny Avengers and All-New Doop though. I keep hearing about Five Ghosts. I'm going to have to check it out when I get the chance. I have been enjoying Velvet as well.

My ratings for the last two weeks worth of comics
1. Robin Rises: Omega #1 ***1/2 out of 5: once the recap's over it's an enjoyable romp 2. Superman/ Wonder Woman #10 ***: this story is losing steam, but the two Annuals should solve that 3. Justice League United #3 ***: solid so far, but Equinox has been an utter waste of space 4. Green Lantern Corps #33 ***: is it over now? Uprising was better than I initially expected 5. Star Wars #19 ***: probably not the finish Wood had hoped for 6. Detective Comics #33 ***: Batman and Harvey together again 7. Grayson #1 ***: loved Janin's art, hated the dark and brooding guest star 8. Batgirl #33 **1/2: loved the guest star, story was ok 9. Worlds' Finest #25 **1/2: they deserved better 10. Teen Titans #1 **1/2: a basic intro story, less annoying than Lobdell 11. Supergirl #33 **1/2: she's free, the brief nightmare is over 12. Superboy #33 *1/2: "The crazy train has officially jumped the tracks. .... and smashed into the crazy bank." no further comment needed

I've read the first three collections of Fatale and thought they were pretty good, but a bit repetitive. The concept seemed to hold more potential than has been realised, so far. I like the artwork, though I think that the title character sometimes looks a little too ordinary to live up to that title. I'll probably keep going with it, especially if it's ending soon. I'll try Velvet too - once again, I like the concept and the art looks good, even if I'm still a bit underwhelmed by Brubaker's writing. It's competent enough, though, and good to see anyone doing more independent stuff.

Read a bunch of my indy books...
Didn't like Wicked and the Divine... too hipster for me, and a bit pretentious. I'd maybe grab it out of a $1 bin, but not for full price. 7th Sword and The Woods are both good, but awfully derivative... 7th sword is VERY similar to Samurai 7... so much so that I wonder if it's a problem. I'll probably stick with both for now, but they're on the fence. Really don't like the current Dredd arc.. will be passing on the rest of it. Astro City this month was... weird. I liked the concept, but the execution wasn't there for me.
So not a great pile of books, I guess.

It's so incredibly different to me. Honestly. I feel zero connections to the characters they're talking about. The whole Marvel U practically is Avengers now, and I guess I sound like an old curmudgeon, but I guess you can't go back. I'm still buying some DC and enjoying it, along with a lot of indies.
None of what they have there, except for Dr Strange, which I could maybe go for, is anything I would like.
Funny: I'm reading more Marvel books than ever before: Avengers, New Avengers, Avengers World, Daredevil, Hulk, All New X-Factor, Original Sin, Original Sin: Hulk Vs. Iron Man, Miracle Man reprints, trade waiting Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Silver Surfer, She-Hulk, maybe Mighty Avengers... I'm in the same boat. Compared to only getting She-Hulk and the occasional mini during the worst of the Millar/Bendis years, Marvel is getting a lot of attention from me.
