Bill Belichick after the game..."We're on to Disney World."
The New England coaching version of Pete Carroll made the call to throw rather than to hand it off to Marshawn Lynch.

Since 2001, Boston teams have won 4 Super Bowls, 3 World Series, 1 NBA title and a Stanley Cup.
And been to two other Super Bowls, an NBA final and a Stanley Cup final.
13 shots at a championship in 15 seasons and 9 wins.
But it hasn't gotten old, and we ddon't take any of it for granted.

And now Brady, having just won a Super Bowl, gets to go home and bang Gisele. That is so fucking awesome. Best day ever?

Now THAT was a classic. I almost thought the Pats were cursed when Kearse made that unbelievable catch. Hawks just had to go Beast Mode for the win, what a complete fail on their part. Congrats Patriots fans, enjoy this one. It's special. As for Brady, let the "best QB ever" arguments begin. Never Forget:

The guy won four rings just like his childhood idol. Man that's gotta be rare.

Brady needs to have a picture like this now. It's a great sports picture, but Bill Russell's is better:

It's a great sports picture, but Bill Russell's is better: Haha, with 11 wins, Bill Russell has more rings than fingers. Admittedly it certainly helps that the Celtics were going up against fewer teams in the NBA than the 49ers were in the NFL. When Russell first won in 1957 there were 8 NBA teams, and 14 teams when he got his last ring in 1969. Whereas in both the 1981 and 1989 seasons, when Montana got his 1st and 4th rings, respectively, there were 28 NFL teams. Anyway, just a weird cross-sports analysis. Nonetheless, yes, Bill Russell is the Lord of the Rings. Yogi Berra comes close with 10 championships as a player. He also had three as a coach. Berra wins though as Russell only won 9 of his titles as a player. Still, great achievements all around. A bit of fun trivia about the Russel picture; not all the rings actually belong to him! Although he won 11 titles he got bored with the rings after the first few and after that demanded the Celtics to take the money they would have spent on the ring and either give it to him in cash or in the form of another gift like a car so when it came time to take the above picture for the Boston Sports Museum they had to track down other rings from some of his fellow team mates.

No, I think all 11 of Russell's rings came as a player technically. His playing career went from 1956-1969. He was a player-coach from 1966-1969 though, but therefore he still played. Haha that's interesting. Can you imagine being bored with winning championships? Not many athletes have that luxury. I suppose that's true, he was still playing(and fairly well for an older player) though I still tend to count them as coaching titles as it makes for a more historically important achievement.

Well since he was player-coach I think you can consider it both. The most championships by a Big Four athlete at 11 and the first African American coach to win an NBA championship. Was he also the first African American coach to win a championship in any of the Big Four sports? I imagine so. Henri Richard won 11 Stanley Cups as a member of the Montreal Canadiens between 1956 and 1973, so he ties Russell for the most championships by a Big Four athlete.

Ah thanks for the information. I'm strictly MLB and NFL so my knowledge of the NBA and NHL is rather limited. No problem; we all have our things. What I know about the NBA could fit in a shot glass, with enough room for a full shot left over, and I know slightly more about the NFL. Hockey used to be a big passion of mine, less so recently, while MLB is my all-time favorite sport.

Brady needs to have a picture like this now. It's a great sports picture, but Bill Russell's is better: You're forgetting that the NFL is the sport people care about the most in America.
