Can't see no poster. Does this one work better?

Nice, can we have the show where this scene happens now please? I'd be down for that, though it's been said now that the poster isn't a real teaser as they gave the artist no actual plot material and instead just told them to do what felt fun. Who knows though, we still could see something similar.

I'm just curious how often everyone else watches the Star Wars movies. I watch the original trilogy about once a year. The prequels have grown on me a bit, and now I watch them about every 2-3 years. I despised the sequels, and have only seen them once, and don't really know if I'll ever watch them again. In fairness, I should probably watch them all one more time and see if I feel differently the second time around.

I have no urge to watch the sequels ever again, but I like the prequels almost as much as the originals.

The original trilogy, I probably watch 2 or 3 times a year nowadays. But in years gone by there were times when I was watching them a couple of times a month at least.
The prequels have not aged well for me, so these days I probably watch them once every 5 years or so, I guess.
Of the sequel trilogy, I've watched the first two films once and have no desire to watch either of them again. I never bothered to see The Rise Of Skywalker and I don't really intend to.
I saw Solo once and that's enough for me. I've probably watched Rogue One 2-3 times a year, every year since it came out.

How annoying: I finally made up my mind I'd like to get that Paul Gulacy Crimson Empire book and it's now one of those out of print things that's ridiculously over-priced - 100s of $$ on amazo!
Just because I took ten years to make a decision, is that any reason for such harsh punishment?!

Star Wars and the Empire Strikes Back I still watch at least a couple of times every month, the original versions not the special editions. Return of the Jedi a little less frequently. The later movies don't do a lot for me (I can kind of stomach Phantom Menace once in a while).
A number of the EU books in the 90's were the true successors to the original trilogy to me.

How are you watching the original versions? On VHS? I guess that brings up another question. Which version of the original trilogy does everybody watch? The "original" (which as far as I know is only available on VHS, laser disc, or that awful DVD version that Lucas "offered" fans based on the laserdisc), the 1997 Special Editions, the Blu-Ray, or the 4K, or some other version I've failed to mention? Personally, I watch the Blu-Ray most of the time. I do have the VHS takes from the 1980's and will watch them every once in a great while, but it's a nuisance to get the DV player going (my TV only has one coaxial input and I'm using that for something else) plus the video quality obviously isn't that great.

I watch the original on the bonus discs from the 2006 limited edition releases, which I think are the ones based on the laserdisc copies? I watch them on an old CRT type TV so maybe that's why they look fine to me. I just watched Star Wars last night...something psychologically pleasing for me about NOT seeing "Episode 4" or "A New Hope" during the title crawl. Plus, despite the lower quality overall, everything just "looks right" to me on them, don't quite know how to explain. Like when they used to broadcast them on TV in the 80's and I'd re-watch them as a kid.

Brings back a memory as well of when Phantom Menace was coming out.
The years building up to it were pretty exciting...the 90's was like this slow building crescendo that culminated in its release. You had the EU books like the brilliant Zahn novels, the re-launch of the toys/figures, the very creative project with Shadows of the Empire (still love the video game and the soundtrack in particular), etc. The changes made in the Special Editions may be more controversial, but at the time, seeing the movies re-released in the theaters was thrilling (and let's face it, even for folks like myself who are hardcore purists and seek out the originals because we can't deal with Greedo shooting first, most scenes of the movies were intact).
So it's 1999, I've got Star Wars fever like I was 6 years old again, the movie is about to come out and what do I find at the bookstore (a Walden at the mall) but the official screenplay available for sale. Yes, they released a print version of the screenplay you could read before the movie. Stark contrast to today with studios desperately trying to contain spoilers from leaking out. But back then it really was different. The Internet was obviously already here, but not nearly in the way we know social media today.
My resistance was weak, I bought it and read the whole thing fully knowing I was likely spoiling a fair amount of the surprise. And I loved it, and since there were no visuals to go with it, my mind had to imagine for instance Jar Jar, and the way I heard his dialogue in my head did not annoy me at all. I was convinced it was going to be a fantastic movie overall.
My friend and I got tickets for opening day, first showing, and brought our wives with us. And I still remember thinking the early part of the movie felt like real Star Wars to me. Then Jar Jar just didn't hit the right note, the pod racing scene was a little too long...the typical stuff that gets criticized. But Darth Maul was so cool, the duel at the end was classic, John Williams' soundtrack...I felt there was some really good stuff there. Again, after having enjoyed the screenplay, I think it was more the overall execution including direction and CGI usage that did not capture the "classic Star Wars" feeling as well as it could have.
The best parts of Attack of the Clones were the high point of the prequels for me (I loved Jango, it was like getting everything we wanted with Boba back in the day), but angsty Anakin and the romance with Padme just got too weird for me. I felt like Anakin as a younger man would have had much more depth of soul and a deeper intellect, and his growing internal conflict and gradual descent into darkness could have been portrayed in a more meaningful way. I could not connect the character from this movie and Revenge of the Sith with the Vader I knew from the original Star Wars.

I too usually watch the unaltered OT, although not always. I do actually like some of the changes, such as the CGI revamping of the Battle of Yavin, the opening up of Cloud City, the Sarlaac's beak, and the general overall tidying up of matt lines in the special effect composites, for example. But like any sensible fan, I detested things like the Mos Eisley cringe-fest, Greedo shooting first, and the "Jedi rocks" sequence in Jabba's palace. I do have the laserdisc-sourced bonus DVD of Star Wars that supercat mentioned, but my go to versions of the unaltered editions are Harmy's DeSpecialized versions: fan-made reconstructions that are available from various "under the counter" internet sources. These blow the unaltered versions that were officially released as bonus discs on the DVD issues into the weeds. Wikipedia article about Harry's DeSpecialized editions.

They are incredible and, without wanting to promote pirate sites, they are fairly easy to find online with a bit of digging. I have all three of the DeSpecialized movies on a USB stick which I simply plug into my TV or laptop to watch.
