I think Star Wars and I'll just have to put distance between us for awhile. I'm thinking a decade. Perhaps then I'll be able to reapproach it with fondness.

Star Wars has been good on television for the most part. Clone Wars had the Star Trek issue of a rocky first season but got really good after that, and Rebels was also good. I'ce heard Resiistance is mediocre, but that's the only 1 so far.

So Lucasfilm has been planning something called Project Luminous since 2018 and it was officially announced yesterday...
Star Wars: The High Republic, stories set in an era long before the Skywalker saga, an era when Jedi ruled over a vast era of peace. Here's there official trailer for it...
just books and comics right now (across several publishers, Marvel & IDW for comics, several different book publishers), and I guess in some ways replaced the Old Republic era in the Expanded universe. I might check out the initial offerings via the public library or similar venues to see what it's like, so I am in wait and see mode for now.

If they can put together any sort of coherent story I'll be impressed.

By replacing the Old Republic, what I meant was it's an era to tell stories before the Skywalker Saga where Jedi remained supreme and could be he central focus of storytelling. A replacement in terms of function for execution of stories of a certain type, not a replacement as a pseudo-historical era. -M

Looks good and that quick glance at the idea board makes me happy.
As of now, it won't have a tie-in movie that it could possibly contradict. Down the line I suppose it could happen, but for now, looks like smooth sailing.

The last few episodes were a bit dull, but the newest episode of the Clone Wars really brought home why the series was so great.
