Any sign of the Werewolf By Night #32 facsimile edition yet?
DC cancelled all their facsimile editions and dollar reprints. Not sure if Marvel followed suit. Purportedly to not flood comic shops with too much inventory coming out of the shut down, but I take the rationale with a grain of salt.
It's probably because they sell better than a lot of the modern stuff, but with a much lower price point, and lower profit margin. The intention was to whet the whistle for certain properties that had Omnibi, etc. coming out, but now they are selling well on their own.
But, just like the demise of newsstand comics... it was a hassle to deliver and stock comic books and a hassle for store owners to maintain them for so little profit, no one wanted to sell them, hence the direct market.
A few years ago, Dan Didio was griping at an appearance about how he couldn't figure out why the "old stuff" sold better than the new content DC was publishing.. I remember these reprint issues being mentioned by name.
