I heard this question earlier today - which 5 individuals would you have dinner with ? Any time period living or dead. Try to make it people you have never met. No fictional characters.
Here's mine:
1. Jesus 2. Sting 3. Jack Kirby 4. Malcom X 5. Donna Summers

2. Stan Lee - Marvel Comics Extraordinaire.
3. Rita Hayworth - Make sure that she wears that Gilda Gown
4. Abraham Lincoln - Great American President - Preserve the Union.
5. Bob Hope - For all the laughter that he brings.

An interesting thread....
1. Pablo Picasso- One of the greatest inspiration in my life; for he got me to learn about the world of art and be creative.
2. Alexander III of Macedon- One of the greatest leaders of the world and one of the greatest minds as well. I'd be he'd be fascinating at a dinner table.
3. Sarah Silverman- Technically I've met her once at a comedy show afterwards, but only for a picture. One of the funniest minds of our time and an brilliant wit about her.
4. Malala Yousafzai- For her social activism and her dedication to make the world a better place.
5. Elon Musk- The closest thing to an Edison we have in our generation. Forever challenging the norms and striving for the betterment of man in lots of endeavors.

1.Lief Ericson: He lead an incredibly interesting life but relatively little is known out side of his discovery of North America 2.Cicero: possibly one of the greatest minds to ever exist. 3.Lucy the Australopithecus: It would be interesting to hear how one of our earliest "cousins" lived. 4.Saladin: it would be interesting to hear his views on both war and peace, especially considering the on going crisis between eastern and western culture 5. Mark Twain: the greatest humorist ever would be sure to delight everyone at the table.

I always enjoy reading people's lists like this, even though I find it hard to settle on my own answers. You could easily do a separate list for different categories - historical figures, scientists/philosophers/thinkers, actors/Hollywood stars, poets, artists , etc, etc.

Yeah, there can be 100's on a list. Except for Jesus, all my names are replaceable.

1. Jesus Christ 2. Jeanne Antoinette Poisson (Madame de Pompadour) 3. Benjamin Franklin 4. Leonardo da Vinci 5. George Carlin
I would gladly entertain Voltaire, William Shakespeare, Martin Luther, Martin Luther King Jr., Stephen Hawking, or Thomas Jefferson in place of #'s 2-4 on the list.

1. Marc Bolan 2. Marc Bolan 3. Marc Bolan 4. David Bowie 5. David Bowie Ask me this 8-10 years back and I would have had a musician on my list. But Prince's religious conversion has effected his music so bad, I'd imagine it's infected his conversation. Besides I was inside half my life. I know what the Jehovah's Witnesses are selling. Get It On ( Bang a Gong) is one of my all time favorite songs.

JRR Tolkien (would love to talk with him about Lord of the Rings and all the backstory he created before it)
Apostle Paul (he started out persecuting Christians before converting so it would interesting to get his viewpoint. Plus I would feel presumptuous to take up Jesus' time. I figure he's pretty busy) Mark Twain (brilliant humorist, would keep the evening entertaining)
Martin Luther King (orator without peer, crusader for human rights, would be fascinating to hear his views in person)
John F. Kennedy (great president, flawed man, made his "land a man on the moon" speech the day I was born and I've always been into the space program. Plus we were both Navy so we'd have something in common)
By the way, I also thought about inviting Judas (it would be interesting to hear his side), but I thought he, Paul, & Dr. King would get in an argument.

My only question to him the entire meal would be "why?" Your comment about Jesus made me laugh, but I don't feel it presumptuous, because the Bible states repeatedly that he went and ate with lots of different people in their homes.
