Irene DunneOne of my favorites and she one of those rare elegant type that command respect on the Silver Screen back in late 30's and early 40's. I've never, ever missed an Irene Dunne movie on TCM. She is a very gifted actress that does her craft in great admiration that I find to be pleasant and entertaining. Fabulous Actress Bar None.

Burgess Meredith for many (myself included) gave the quintessential performance as The Penguin in the '60s Batman TV series. His appearance in the Twilight Zone episode "Time Enough at Last" is one of the best and most memorable in the entire series. Some of his other iconic roles include George in Of Mice and Men and Mickey in the Rocky films. One of my personal favorites was his role in the Grumpy Old Men films which I think are some of the funniest moments in those movies.

I'm also a collector of 50 Cents of Hollywood Superstar - Part 2 of 2
Got this early this year... Stars Collected: Jayne Mansfield, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, and Caroll Baker. Whole Collection Here. Wow--great collection, Mecha, these are just gorgeous! I have not seen the young Elizabeth Taylor with this sort of hairdo often. From photos I've seen of her back then in general when she wore her hair long her forehead was bare, with her swept back from her brow. This fluffed-up hairdo is a different look for her. Intresting that they included the underrated Carroll Baker among this group of heavyweights. Baker was from a later era than most of these other stars. She appeared in some high-profile 1950s films, including 1856's Giant in which she played Liz's daughter (even though she's about a year younger in real life; both Liz and Rock Hudson were made up to age throughout the movie, as its events spanned many decades). Anyway, it's a lovely photo of Baker. My favorite portrait among these is Rita Hayworth's--an absolutely stunning photo her that showcases her bone structure, finely spaced features, and her trademark hair. Thanks for sharing these!

One interesting thing about those medallions is the facial expression some of the models have assumed for the photo: it's one I don't think is used much now, sort of a "sultry" look, with parted lips, but neither smiling nor pouting nor doing the infamous "duck-face". Marilyn Monroe, typically, exaggerates it almost to the point of self-parody, but when it's more restrained it's quite effective - Rita Hayworth and Sophia Loren are my favourites in this set.
