Clark Gable in Gone With the Wind as Rhett ButlerFrom the InternetOne of the most talked about Motion Picture of All-Time ... Made back in 1939 and been a staple of TCM on a yearly basis in a two-part format. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time getting these photos and I've been trying to get Vivian Leigh as Scarlett in this movie for a very long time. Anyway, enjoy this only photo of Clark Gable in this iconic film back in 1939. One of a kind, the definition of a superstar. They truly don't make 'em like this anymore....

Jane Fonda in Cat BallouA 1965 Film - Also Starring Lee MarvinOne of those hip westerns that define the word "cool" and it's quite entertaining too. This is Jane Fonda plays Cat Ballou, back in the days when she was not only acting but also accepting sexy kittenish roles, a rancher's daughter out to avenge the murder of said rancher by the bad guys who run the town. Yep, it's a sex Western, one that gives us the one-of-a-kind performances of Fonda and of Lee Marvin, who has two roles - an alcoholic gunslinger who's supposed to be Cat's saving and a mean, dastardly hit man with a prosthetic nose - and who won himself an Oscar for his delightful work. But it's not just the lighthearted performances of the actors that floats this film, it's also the riveting, uproarious script. The pace is never dull - there are some Westerns that'll slow things down to kind of add mood to a story, but not this one.

New Hedy Lamarr PhotoCame from a Magazine that I acquired that was missing some pages and I found this photo intact and undistributed. Love these--Leigh and Lamarr look like sisters!! Always found it interesting that Leigh was born November 5, 1913, and Lamarr--whose birth year has variously been reported as 1913, 1914 or 1915--was born on November 9. Spectacular Scorpios!

Liz Taylor - Cat in Hot Tin Roof 1958 Photos - Maggie Pollitt CharacterOne of the enduring drama and romance movie of all time - this movie is iconic movie that doesn't need to be explained here. I find this movie very powerful and yet fragile. It's also starred Paul Newman as Britt Pollitt and the combination of Burl Ives and Judith Anderson as Big Daddy and Big Momma Pollitt is about dynamic as it's gets. The story goes a wealthy Mississippi plantation owner Big Daddy Pollitt, unaware that he's dying of cancer and disturbed by the strained and childless marriage of his favored alcoholic son Brick and his other son, Gooper, whose wife is about to bring forth another in the endless line of little "no-neck monsters," celebrates his sixty-fifth birthday with his family. Brick's wife, Maggie, beautiful and desirable, tries unsuccessfully to coax her husband away from the bottle, while alternately enticing him and taunting him about his obsession with his deceased best friend and the guilt about their relationship. The seamy tensions reach a climax when the truth of Big Daddy's health is revealed, and he and Brick manage to resolve their differences in a way they knows best.

Ben Turpin
Fan of the silent movie era will know Ben Turpin. While the likes of Chaplin, Keaton, and Lloyd were the champs of silent film comedies, the infamous cross-eyed Turpin was a powerhouse of comedy for the Mac Sennett Studios. Making over 200 films and doing vaudeville, his looks made him a star....
