I'd been thinking of doing Road Trip films for months now It's a pretty wide genre when you think of it; comedies like the Bob Hope "Road to..." Films and Chevy Chase Vacation movies, fantasies like The Wizard of Oz, romantic comedies like it Happened One Night, dramas like Easy Rider and Into the Wild, action flick like Death Race and Mad Max, and just about everything in between. Well it won't be my next choice, buy I hope we get to it soon!

Just a reminder that you have two days left to get your final viewings in. If you don't have a space reserved at the beginning of this thread, make sure to post your total films viewed here before the end of the day Monday so that we can determine the winner of the month.

So funnily enough, I watched or re-watched a few movies that fit this month's theme in the past few weeks :
Leviathan - 80ies Cannon underwater rip of Alien and The Thing, some ok acting and mechanical FX, some cheese, but overall quite nice, kind of guilty pleasure-ish.
Waterworld (the Ulysses Cut fanedit) - Well, the regular theatrical cut is a famous industrial failure, but it's far from the bomb many say it is, it's quite beautifuly shot, features an intersting world with high production values, but it has some of the cheesiest villains ever. This fan edit takes most interesting scenes from the TV extended version including the epilogue but doesn't skip the most graphic parts of the theatrical version. It also features way more underwater scenes...
Run Silent Run Deep - Quite nice Robert Wise submarine movie I had on my hard drive for over 2 years now. Good performances and suspense despite some WWII clichés...

Never heard of any of those before. I love Alien, Robert Wise, and intelligent editing, so it sounds like I have some films to see...

Well, unless someone's planning a major upset in the next two hours, I think we can safely call me the winner this month. And, since Coke & Comics likes to know the next assignment as quickly as possible, here it is: Bad Movies, Movie Riffing, & MST3KInspired by Jesse's thread, I just don't have time to do two movie assignments at the same time, so I thought I'd make them overlap this month. Any film more than ten years old and sixty minutes in length qualifies, so long as you consider it irredeemably bad or are watching/listening to a version of the film in which someone is riffing on it. And, if you're going the MST3K/Rifftrax way, be sure to write about it in Jesse's thread. Bring on the pain!

A day late for the intended theme, but I finally saw Jaws for the first time.
Hmmm... maybe I can claim it's a bad movie...

Bad Movies is my specialty and I pretty much watch a lot of them; and one of them is ...
Godzilla (1998) This Roland Emmerich film is one of the baddest movies around and Godzilla was totally looks like a giant (totally something different) lizard than a monster that left many fans of Godzilla shaking their heads. I watched this movie twice and I regretted doing that.

You actually made a valid point here because it was a little Jurassic Park and I did not see that coming with you! I totally agree with you on this!

If that's the one with Matthew Broderick, then I agree with thwth. It's the only Godzilla movie I own.

Still catching up on previous month's themes, now with The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.
Hmm, maybe I can claim this is a bad movie...

I have been working through a list of sci/fi films I want to watch. It occurs to me I can sort the list by average rating, and just pick from the bottom this month.
Hmmm... My list has 13 films with a lower average rating than Plan 9 from Outer Space.
