As long as you are enjoying what you are reading and the reading experience, I'm never going to comment of the quantity. Everyone has their own pace, and their own preference for how much they want to read, let alone different schedules that may dictate how much time you have available for reading. -M Exactly this. I kind of stepped away from logging my reading a few years back because I felt like I was pressuring myself and reading to check boxes rather than fun, but I missed seeing what everyone is into so I jumped back in and I'm trying not to read for anything else but fun.
I like being able to look back and see what I was reading this time a year ago or two years or whatever the case may be. Also, if I've started something and then gotten distracted, I can check back and see where I left off if I don't feel like starting all over again at the beginning. But mostly it's nice to have a record and I've started doing this with everything - the books I read, etc.

That's a big part of it for me, too. I like being able to go back and see what I and everyone else was reading, month by month. I suppose I could just store it on a document somewhere, but this community is where I chronicle everything else about my comic journey, so why not this too? But if it becomes an expectation/work, then by all means walk away. It absolutely shouldn't be that.

And April is a wrap. Read a decent amount of comics (135 ish) and am approaching 500 for the year.
Highlights of May include: The Other History of the DC Universe Legends of the Dc Universe 1-13 (in particular the Evanier/Rude Jimmy Olsen 4th World issue) Usagi Yojimbo The Crow Titan's Conan the Barbarian Marvel's Savage Sword of Conan adapting Conan the Conqueror Batman C=51 Treasury Facsimile Joshua Williamson's Flash and Superman stuff classic Batman Beyond stuff
and a lot more. I enjoyed almost everything I read this month.
lowlights of the month (I did say almost everything, these two stood out as worst of the month)
-The Principles of Necromancy #1-I rarely drop books after 1 issues, but I did this and it was just a hot mess on every level from art, to pacing, to visual storytelling
-Ultimate X-Men #2-I love Peach Momoko's art, but this book and these characters just aren't doing it for me, another book I dropped. And the lettering has issues, it's too small and too dark to be easily read in print, on a screen where you can zoom in on panels it might be fine, but on a comic sized page, especially the stuff in white lettering on a black background in a funky cursive font that looks to be about a 6 point font on the page, was nearly impossible for me to read even with my reading glasses on. Whoever letters and edits this book needs to look at a proof of a page in print before approving it, because it just doesn't work, but I doubt any of the pages are edited in print and all that is done digitally without seeing how the actual final product will look. I might have given the series another issue or two to see if it grew on me if it weren't for the lettering making it nearly impossible to read some of the dialogue.

Big downturn in April with only 16 books (or equivalent). Just didn't have a whole lot of time for funnybooks.

Pretty poor month for me -- only 11 comics read this month. I lost about two weeks when I was ill with flu and didn't feeling like reading anything though. Hopefully I'll be able to read a good bit more in May.

I mostly read my pull list.. not alot of classic stuff, just a few odds and ends from the to read pile. None of that was anything I wanted to get more of. And I was to say, the early 90s Avengers West Coast are ,well, early 90s comics. Not great.

My reading was way down this month. It would have been under 100 comics if I hadn't binge read some Dragon Ball. I changed positions at work and have different working hours now, so my reading habits are out of synch. I got some shit down, though.
I finally sped up and finished The Drifting Classroom. During one of the great horror/sci-fi mangas of all-time. I was worried about Umezu sticking the landing, but I was happy with the choices he made. Totally recommend this as Halloween reading when the time comes.
I also read the Severins' Kull, thanks to the recommendations of folks here, and thoroughly enjoyed it despite not particularly liking Kull stories in the past.
From there, I moved on to completely Kubert's run on Tarzan. It's an extremely inconsistent book. I wish Kubert had treated the Tarzan material the way Roy Thomas handled the Conan material. If he'd stuck to adapting the novels, it would have been a much stronger book. I can't understand the decision to have random Russ Manning fill-in issues where you never print the conclusion to the story.
I read the Bat Lash mini series that Severin drew in his early 80s. Pretty impressive pencils for his age. It's an extended origin story and fairly grim.
I was initially appalled at the Moench/Gulacy Batman vs. Predator series, but eventually I accepted it for the drivel that it was. Gulacy's star is fading in my eyes, but I guess he was having fun drawing the Huntress' ass from various different positions. Terry Moore is another guy who's losing me. At this point, I'm not convinced he's done anything good since Rachel Rising. Motor Girl is the best of the bunch.
I began reading Go Nagai's Devilman, which was an inspiration for my all-time favorite manga, Berserk. So far, so good.
