I wonder if Tony plays this song in his helmet while he is using the skates... -M "Toro, toro, taxi..."

1.) Did you like or dislike Iron Man’s roller skates? I like them. But I feel like they haven't shown up much in the stories I've read, because I don't have many memories of them.
2.) What possibly superfluous aspect of a character’s costume/attire did you like? Most any. Superfluous costume stuff is great. I like when Rogue wore more than one belt simultaneously for no real reason.
3.) What superfluous aspect of a character’s costume/attire did you dislike? Most of Kirby's face-framing head pieces. It's been called a wimpole in reference to the Scarlet Witch, although I'm not sure whether that's technically what it is. The Scarlet Witch looked better when it was changed to more of a tiara rather than something that went around her chin.

I agree on the Scarlet Witch but I think that's the only one I don't like. All the others I can think of - e.g. Barda, Hela, Thena, Karnilla - are great and would be included under my response to question 2.
When you think about it, pretty much every superhero costume has some superfluous aspects - it might even be considered characteristic of the genre. The colourful nature of the visuals is one of the attractions, for me, and that usually means going beyond a grey utilitarianism.
A bit off-topic, but I thought the Marvel movies did a fantastic job of translating Hela's weird headdress to the screen in an imaginative way that captured what made it so cool in the comics without exactly reproducing it. But they've never got Magneto's helmet right, that I've seen - but I've only seen one of the X-Men movies, though lots of online clips and stills from others.

X-Men First Class did it pretty well...

As for superfluous aspects of a costume I don't like, I hate it when artists put sharp and spiky stuff on shoulder pieces, not taking into account what might happen when the character lifts his or her arms. Well the whole superhero concept is impractical. Unless your superpower is invulnerability, there's little point in going to fight armed criminals with guns in onesie and bare hands. Even in the most "realistic" Marvel television series (I use the word "realistic" loosely as possible) the writers have said they have faced this problem. So they always have to come up with some kind of lucky coincidence where the bad guys can't use guns, or were caught by surprise or whatever. This is especially evident in the "Falcon and Winter Soldier" series, where it always ends in a good fist fight, instead of the good guys having to find cover because the bad guys are shooting at them. Even Bruce Lee, the closest thing we've had to a super-hero in real life, said it would be folly to think he could win bare-knuckle against opponents armed with firearms. And once you might get lucky, but remember, it only takes one bullet. (Matt Murdock, I'm looking at you. At least Batman is wearing some kind of high-tech super armor).

I guess it’s about what looks good.
Wrestling can be the same. There was a wrestler who had a taxman gimmick. His name was IRS. He wore braces and a tie in the ring. It sure is silly, on a practical level, to wrestle with a tie on, but it completely suited the taxman gimmick.

I suppose, but some things just stick out (no pun intended) more for me.
I don't think the picture I tried to post above worked, but it was an Official Handbook image of a Nova Corps warrior. The shoulder pieces have long spikes that curve back toward the wearer, and every time I see it I immediately worry that he is going to lift his arms and behead himself.

None of those costumes are what I'm talking about. I'm talking about something that's basically a frame around the face. So the face is surrounded on four sides (including the chin or just under it), no mask, top of the head uncovered. It's weird because there's no mask, so it doesn't hide one's identity. But the top of the head is uncovered, so it doesn't seem protective like a helmet. Lightray would be another example of the costume motif I'm trying to describe as what I dislike. There's at least one of the forever people who also has that face-frame. Hela's mask is basically the opposite of the thing I dislike. It's got a mask over the eyes, top of the head is covered, chin isn't framed (plus the horns are really cool). Barda is more like a helmet. Karnilla and Thena are like tiaras (that don't have the chin framed), which I mention is a redesign I preferred to Kirby's wimpole for her.

1.) Did you like or dislike Iron Man’s roller skates? As a kid, I wished I had roller skates in my shoes. I was born too early to be a part of the Heely generation.
2.) What possibly superfluous aspect of a character’s costume/attire did you like? I like all superfluous aspects. The more 'fluous, the better! But, seriously, the eccentricities of super-herodom are what attract me to it.
3.) What superfluous aspect of a character’s costume/attire did you dislike? This one is from the movies... Black makeup around the hero's eyes, to blend in with the mask. It's ridiculous, unnecessary, and who would have the time?

This is especially evident in the "Falcon and Winter Soldier" series, where it always ends in a good fist fight, instead of the good guys having to find cover because the bad guys are shooting at them. In the finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, members of the Flag Smashers fired guns at Cap a number of times, playing up Cap's shield and Vibranium wings.
