Why is this particular volume so rare, when I'm practically tripping over copies of volumes 1, 3 and 4? Does it, as Pól Rua speculates, contain a copy of the Anti-Life Equation itself?

I don't know how long you've been tracking the volume, but generally with tpbs, as soon as they go out of print, retailers jack up the prices. Eventually, it comes back in print just in time for a different volume to go out of print. I'd give it a month or two.

Maybe the first didn't sell that well, so they gave the second a smaller printing which ended up leaving some people unable to get the second and thus skipping the last two?
