Just watched episode 9 last night - as per my thoughts after watching the first episode, I'm really enjoying this series. It's a good take on Supes and Lois and the idea of a superhero dealing with family life while also hoping to avert a war between humanity and human-Kryptonian hybrids. And I have to say, so far there hasn't been any real teenage self-destruction. In fact, one of the strong points for me is the way the Kent boys and Lana's daughter are portrayed.

I really like this show. Liked the recent flashback episode. I'm still not sure I like Edge as Kryptonian although I like the twist were he was captured and raised as a lab specimen showing how Clark having loving parents made him unique. This us the Superman I want to see on the big screen.

I think that's the best on-screen rundown of Superman/Kal/Clark's origin and back-story behind the romance between him and Lois I've ever seen.

On another forum a user was puzzled because they didn't show Lois Lane angry after Clark Kent revealed his secret identity to her. And why should she be? This isn't the Pre-Crisis Superman who spent half his time gaslighting her and making her doubt about her own mental sanity.

That, and since his 1st appearance on Supergirl, I've always thought Hoechlin was not a good casting choice visually, and I would like his Clark more if he was not mining Reeve's performance.

I finally saw the finale. Overall I liked this series. I felt the many & somewhat long hiatuses hurt the momentum of the show. I liked that John Henry got somewhat of a happy ending. I hope next season moves on and doesn't revisit Edge, I also hope they stick with shorter episode counts of 13-16 a season.
This show & Stargirl are the only ones left on the CW worth watching anymore.

I liked it all the way through. It's just a really well-done series that strikes a good balance between super-heroics and and family drama.

Watched the 1st 6 episodes then chose to skip knowing of the interruptions. Can't wait for buying the DVD of season 1 so I can see it all. This, Stargirl, Flash, Doom Patrol and Legends of Tomorrow are some of the best live comic book fun a fan could wish for. I do wish that Swamp Thing had gotten more than a single season.
All of these are proudly sitting on my shelf alongside my earlier iterations of Batman,Wonder Woman and Flash DVD sets.

Finished watching the entire Superman and Lois season on DVD today. This is the very BEST CW adaption from DC comics of all the shows. Excellent casting for every single character. The focus upon the Super-family is hitting all the right notes. Really like that Jonathan isn't being overshadowed by Jordan's powers. The parenting aspects of Clark and Lois feels real, honest and from the heart.
Think it was smart moving locations from Metropolis to Smallville. Provides more personal intimacy and storytelling while allowing Supes to still operate worldwide as necessary. Smallville as a community and characters is easier to create visibly for television. Taking Clark back to his roots helps make him more "human" and believable removing much of the "alieness" and aloof super-dickery aspect of the comics. I said it before and will repeat Hoechlin will be the BEST Clark/Superman as they are giving him wonderfully creative writing to perform with BOTH persona's. He truly is putting the SUPER in the MAN and the MAN into the SUPER.
This shorter opening season was really tight and jam packed with story and action combining into a spectacular start. There was si much that could have dragged on in sloooow build up and they avoided that. So much story that could have made 2 seasons easily. Hoping they focus remains for this faster resolution of plots and not dragging out with filler episodes.
Looking forward to season 2! Up, up and awaaaaaay...

Just finished binge watching season 1 on HBOMAX and overall was impressed. I thought there were a couple unexpected twists early on and really dig the family dynamic. One of the better live action Superman adaptations with respect to the short lived Krypton series and the Donner films.

Speaking of twists, there's a great one to start of season 2. Love that they are trying to surprise even long-time comic fans by subverting expectations.

Now that it is over... I liked how they adapted Bizarro and the Parasite for the TV show. I pretty much liked the entire season except for how Clark got his powers back. If he lost his powers how did he survive in outer space and being thrown into the sun? Did I miss something?

Renewed for a 4th (and final 10 episode) series on the CW. However budget had been severely cut with 7 actors being let go and # of special effects decreased. I feel bad for the actors and feel it will hurt the series to the point that it will be merciful to end it.
