I listened to an LP of the earliest recordings by The Five Americans (Dallas based '60s garage rock) this morning, and also a couple dozen '50s sides I assembled that John Fogerty mentions as influential in his autobiography.

Six more additions to my Spotify library: Bangles Greatest HitsCei-U! I summon today's soundtrack! I picked up an album of their earliest (pre-Mickey Steele) recordings on CD (but is also on vinyl LP, Omnivore label) when they were actually The Bangs and part of that paisley underground LA scene. An underrated group! Most people think of them as following on The Go-Gos coat-tails or something which isn't true, they just didn't have any larger label records at first. Both groups were very '60s influenced though. Blondie wasn't taken 'seriously' at first either, they were all kind of an antidote to the 'serious' rock ideal (you know, where The Monkees and The Archies are evil incarnate).

Latest additions to my Spotify library:
Carter, Carlene Little Acts of Treason Carter, Deana Did I Shave My Legs for This? Kenny G Breathless Mavericks Music for All Occasions Raye, Collin I Think About You
With these five (and the removal of the Chicago and Wizard of Oz soundtracks), I'm at an even 250 albums. That's enough for now, I think.
Cei-U! I summon the hours and hours of good listening!
