I'm filling up my new recent long box I bought last week filling it up with old Marvel stuff from Alf, power pack, various spider man stuff, ghost rider, hulk and Thor.
I still have little bit room left and I have bits here and there of old NOW, Spawn, and Darkness.
Should I just put that stuff in with my main marvel stuff in the long box?
Just asking and wondering

It depends how you normally organize thing. The bulk of my collection is boxed alphabetically regardless of publisher, though certain characters I'm fond of have their own boxes which also include spin-off books (eg The Defenders, who have a box also containing their appearances in Marvel Feature plus limited series' starring Nighthawk, Hellcat and Gargoyle).

The bulk of my collection is boxed alphabetically regardless of publisher, though certain characters I'm fond of have their own boxes which also include spin-off books (eg The Defenders, who have a box also containing their appearances in Marvel Feature plus limited series' starring Nighthawk, Hellcat and Gargoyle). The kind who can't be bothered to have a separate box for half a dozen copies of random Image titles (probably all I've bought from that company in twenty years) and who therefore files his two issues of WildC.A.T.S between a solitary issue of Wild Cards (Epic) and the Wild Dog limited series (DC) because it seems to make sense and to make them easier to find. Likewise, Tarzan has had multiple publishers, but why would I not want all my Tarzan comics in the same box? |

You paid money for two separate issues of WildC.A.T.S? What kind of animal are you? I have the entire first and second series and multiple one shots and crossovers that's sandwiched between Widow: Metal Gypsies and Wildstorm: Chamber of Horrors. Because all my books are alphabetized too regardless of publisher. My AoA books aren't catalogued cause it'd be a pain in the ass to sift those multiple titles out when I want to read it. |

I used to mix publishers, and just store by title.
but that was many, many, many years ago.
now I just have dozens (and dozens) of boxes that have massively mixed up titles (one or two issues of each thing) all just stored together.
yeah.. . I'll never find anything ever again.
oh well. . . the stored boxes in the closet (s) make the packrat in me happy.

Gave away mine years ago, though I kept them alphabetized by title. Kept index cards with issue numbers, to keep straight what I had vs what I still wanted. Way before I had a computer.
Personally, I used to hate searching boxes at comic shops who split DC, marvel and everyone else. I'd end up going back and forth as a title popped in my head. Give me just one A-Z, so I can start at one end and just sift my way to the end.

I do the same thing, but I do try to keep stuff that makes sense together.. like I have an Iron Man box, an FF box, an Avengers Box, a Star Wars Box, and JLA Box, etc. (will, Avengers and Iron Man are really almost 2 boxes).. the the other stuff is in (mostly) alphabetical order in other boxes |

I try not to make myself crazy when filling my boxes. When I don't have enough of a series I attempt to store it with other books that relate somehow. Example: I store my Hawkeye minis in the Avengers boxes.

The majority of my boxes are organized by title/group/character. For example, all my Iron Man issues, regardless of volume number, are in one box, all my X-men issues are in another box, all X-related titles are in another box, all of my Thor issues are in another, and so on and so forth.
Any miscellaneous books or scattering of issues of a run are kept in a haphazard manner in certain boxes which I have memorized for reference.
