No he doesn't! I'll be extremely happy if 'Professor Mary Sue' is never seen, heard or referred to ever again.

When they first showed Clara's student in the TARDIS I originally thought she was the young River Song but it was a different actress so I don't think that was meant to be her.

Yes, it's been a bit of a slow burn, but Capaldi is getting better and better in the role.
I'm sorry to hear that this is Clara's last year on the show. The chemistry between her and Capaldi's Doctor is just starting to get interesting.
And I have to say, she looked fantastic in that 1920s flapper costume.

Foxes singing Queen's Don't Stop Me Now from "Mummy on the Orient Express".
BBC released their own version with footage from the show edited in.

And I have to say, she looked fantastic in that 1920s flapper costume. She did! I loved her shorter hairdo, and I'm sad to see that it was apparently just for that episode.

"Flatline" was decent. The Boneless were pretty creepy and I liked seeing the TARDIS shrunk down. Rigsy should stay on as a companion. Christopher Fairbank was excellent as Fenton who was a complete bastard.

My expectations were pretty low going into this episode as I dislike most of the "Doctor lite" episodes but this was actually entertaining.

Flatland as a horror story? Surprisingly effective!

I don't see Pink and Mickey as similar, except their both being soldiers (but that's pretty much reversed). I'm pretty sure Mickey was originally a mechanic and the only time I would consider him to be an actual soldier was in "The End of Time" although he starts down that road while destroying Cybermen in the alternate reality. I guess it's just me then... Mickey wasn't a soldier, but he was quick to accept that Doctor as a given, which is kinda what I meant. I'm not sure what it is exactly, (Rory didn't remind me of Mickey at all) just one of those things I guess. I haven't actually watched the last couple, but I will at some point before they vanish.

Well, by the time they made that episode Jenna Coleman was already cast...

They've been throwing out a few teasers for potential new companions this year - Clara's young student who went to the moon with them, the train mechanic or engineer who was all but asked by the Doctor but turned him down, and now the young graffiti artist - maybe there have been others I've missed?
But with each episode the chemistry between Capaldi's Doctor and Coleman's Clara is getting better and better, so much so that I really can't picture anyone taking either's place. I find the slightly antagonistic quasi-father/daughter relationship that seems to have emerged after some confused flailing about in the first few episodes a compete breath of fresh air after the repeated romantic entanglements or at least hints thereat of the last several series.
