I forgot the Alfred Molina tarantula scene in Raiders. Kudos to that dude for enduring that. [expletive deleted] spiders.

I prefer online discussions to real-life discussions despite being a people person.
Why? Because, for the most part, you get to stick to a subject with distractions.
I met some friends for lunch recently, most of whom like comic-related movies/TV shows. At one point during the discussion, I brought up the fact that I was disappointed we hadn't got to see the MCU Netflix heroes appear in any of the MCU movies. One of my friends tried to speak about that, but the usual big-mouth (every group has one) jumped in loudly and went off on a tangent for ages about the series "Black Lightning". What seemed like an eternity later, that was the only series being discussed - and then others went off on a tangent about Hellboy.
I tried to return it to the original subject, but the opportunity/flow was gone. A simple question ("Should the Netflix heroes show up in the movies?") was denied an answer because the overbearing type had to interrupt about a DC show.
You can apply my complaint to any subject. There is one guy in my social circle who will interrupt constantly and go off on a tangent about unrelated subjects. You could be talking about your holiday to Sark and he might jump in and say, "Ah, yes. Been there. Good beer. Speaking of beer, have I told you about that beer festival taking place in town?" And on and on and on...
At least on a forum like this - whatever the topic - you can get to the heart of things. A topic such as "Has anyone been to Sark?" would, if people had, attract interesting replies. Someone wouldn't derail the topic on an unrelated matter.
(Thread drift on any forum is fine, but in real life, some go way off-topic and for an age!).
Angry rant over.

@taxidriver1980 ... I have friends do not want to stay on "topic" and rather talk about something else and that's bothers me a lot and just can't seems to find an answer for. I rather talk to my friend (singlar) on an one on one setting so that we can enjoy our discussion together. I avoid small groups because things can be "heated" in a hurry.

My grumpy post may sound pedantic, I know. There can be a place for thread drift online/going off on a tangent. But imagine if someone posted a topic about, say, the third season of Star Trek - and the first reply was a Star Wars comment. And then pages later, nothing but Star Wars talk. It's the same in real life. One can discuss several topics with a person or in a group. That's fine. But I prefer a one-to-one chat as you can stay on topic better. And sometimes there's a lot to say. This particular social circle does go off on a tangent a LOT. You could be discussing DC Comics' Snagglepuss (hypothetically, we haven't yet had that discussion) and someone may tell you about their cat - and then go off on a tangent about the time their cat did this, etc. Before you know it, you're not discussing a DC book or Snagglepuss, you're hearing 15-20 minutes of a person's cat anecdotes. It's why I don't enjoy audio commentaries by a group of folk. When there's 4-5 people commentating on a film/TV episode, things go off on a tangent, threads/flow are lost, etc. Many a time I have been listening intently, someone starts what sounds like it'll be a great anecdote - and then someone else will say, "Ah, look at this scene. Remember filming this?!" Thread lost, flow lost, anecdote interrupted - and you have missed out. Less is more, I think.

The B-52s are a pretty good band when Fred Schneider isn't singing.

The B-52s are a pretty good band when Fred Schneider isn't singing. Ha. I went to see them in Radio city Music hall in the 90's. They were great.

I really wish pubs would stop billing a solo singer performing with backing tracks on a computer as "live music". It isn't. It's paid karaoke at best. My rule of thumb is that if the human being(s) performing could drop dead on stage and the music would still carry on, then it ain't live music.
There! I said it.

The B-52s are a pretty good band when Fred Schneider isn't singing. Then they must be good all the time, considering Fred never actually, in the proper sense of the word, sings.

I have just discovered Spotify. Shame! Shame! Shame! I’m old. My older brother uses it everyday ... I can't because of my hearing handicap; my brother loves it and uses it about 1-3 hours a day.

I have just discovered Spotify. Shame! Shame! Shame! I’m old. I must be really old, since I still use Pandora. My daughters and even my wife are on the Spotify bandwagon, however, but I'm resisting since I already have my Pandora account set up just as I want it and don't want to have to start over somewhere else.
