Captain America in the Marvel Age (A Review Thread)

I've thought about this for a while, and I am finally going to take the plunge on my first review thread, in which I am going to tackle the entirety of the Captain America series since 1961, starting with his first solo appearance in Tales of Suspense #59. It's ambitious and a little daunting, which is why I've put it off as long as I have.
Why Captain America? As some of you know, I completed a complete run of the Captain America series (not counting ToS) about two years ago, and this has become the pride of my collection. I didn't grow up reading Cap, so most of this collecting was done long after these books were in the back issue bins; I only started buying Cap on a regular basis shortly before his "death" at the hands of Ed Brubaker. As I review these books, I will be reading many of these issues for the first (or second, for a few of them) time.
A few notes:
1. I'm not even a passable artist, to the point that I actually draw fat stick figures. That said, I can't comment on whether an inker's lines are too thick or who the colorist was or any of the other things that comic art aficionados can pick out just by glancing at a page.
2. I'm going to be focusing mainly on the storylines and the continuity of the series, looking at how the characters and events develop. As a former history teacher, I am also going to pay attention to the current events of the time the books were published and how they impacted the series.
3. I'm going to be keeping track of first appearances, continuity goofs, and embarrassing or headscratcher moments.
4. The reviews are going to focus on the Captain America series itself, as I pondered doing a side-by-side review thread with Avengers to ensure that I did not miss anything continuity-wise. That seemed to be too much, so I welcome folks to comment and let me know where I may have missed something or if I call something out incorrectly.
5. I am going to try to post a minimum of one review per week, although I am really hoping to average at least two for the foreseeable future.
