Probably this has been asked before, but is there a way to read any of the '70s DC implosion comics that were ready to be published but weren't, other than the photocopies/ashcans of 'Cancelled Comics Cavalcade' that is? I'd think they could've put out some of these for collectors at some point for Vixen #1, Mister Miracle #26, Shade #9, Ragman #6 etc. I do know I have what would've been Showcase #105 (Deadman) in a $1-sized Adventure Comics at least. I see b&w scans on a few blogs of just the covers like these on Dial B For Blog... Many of the pages intended for Steel the Indestructible Man #6 were slightly redialogued, inked, and incorporated into All-Star Squadron #8-9 as flashback sequences.

Thanks for the info. It seems correct that Mister Miracle #26 and Ragman #6 didn't get much farther than the cover being completed. I did find the Black Lightning story wound up in a World's Finest and the Firestorm was used in the back of The Flash, and also in a collected reprint book. Still, would be cool if The Vixen #1 ever surfaces as that seems to have been completed, and also The Creeper by Ditko for Showcase #106.

Cool, thanks! Better than nothing though I see the final page didn't make it through the letterist.

Sub-Mariner
We all know this character, but, it's always bugged me that the 90's Byrne title had the "Marvel's first mutant" banner at the top.
Ok, I guess that's true, and they stuck into the X-universe, but what exactly is his mutant power ?
Honestly, almost everything he has is a result of his human / Atlantean hybrid physiology, as far as I can tell. The only mutant power I can really trace back is his being able to fly.
I've got to be missing something here.

It's why there was a flower child in a World War two comic in 1968 and Olsen went all James Bond/ Man from U.N.C.L.E. in '66. And of course, this...

I've got to be missing something here. Neither humans nor Atlanteans have ankle wings. It is a mutation. -M Yup. And it was Lee and Kirby who first established his status as a mutant all the way back in X-Men #6.

Right.
Other than that, I don't see where his mutant powers are.

Right. Other than that, I don't see where his mutant powers are. That's it. All Namor's other abilities (ignoring the silly ones Kirby tried to give him) are due to his being a human/Atlantean hybrid.

Does anyone know if Rob Liefeld gets a piece of the action from sales of Deadpool merchandise ?

Neither humans nor Atlanteans can fly. Namor has wings that allow him to fly. And Namora, also a hybrid, has the same mutation.

Looking at "Wings on his Feet" from Sub-Mariner Comics #38, we see that Namor's wings manifested at age fourteen under stressful conditions. He and his mother had fallen into a crevasse in the Arctic and a panicking Namor instantly sprouts the famous flying appendages. They don't use the word "mutation," of course, but that seems to be what's going on.

Does anyone know if Rob Liefeld gets a piece of the action from sales of Deadpool merchandise ? Not specifically; but, I seem to recall reading that DC's terms were more generous, in regards things like that, at the time, than Marvel's, though Marvel's overall sales levels meant more of their people qualified for royalties.
