Thanks for that, not sure I've been on that site. I certainly would have loved more Robin VS Man-Bat encounters as a kid. I was always disappointed when he didn't show up. Blockbuster is another 'villain' I like, but I only recall Bats and Robin facing him once. After that, it was all solo Bats VS Blockbuster. IIRC, Man-Bat showed up after Robin went off to college, which probably explains his absence. As for Blockbuster, Robin was around for all of his Silver Age appearances in Batman and Detective, but he didn't show up again in a Batman comic until the late 70s, when Robin was essentially flying solo.

You know what caused some confusion for me?
In the late 80s, US comics were hard to come by for me (I didn't live near a comic store) so I was dependent on UK reprints. A company called London Editions Magazines did a Batman title for a UK audience. It reprinted 70s tales, but not always in chronological order. So one issue might have 2 Robin stories in, the next issue might have 1 story in - and then the next issue might have no Robin appearances.
The title I read (Batman Monthly) initially reprinted The Untold Legend of the Batman (1980), but then reprinted late 70s tales. So as enjoyable as it was, the chronology was all over the place. And in an era before Google, and with me not knowing what was happening in the US, well that meant Robin was ubiqitous for me.
I didn't even see a Jason Todd tale until one was reprinted in 1990 (when I was 10).

Blockbuster is the main villain during Chuck Dixon's Nightwing run in the mid-late 90s, when he first moves to Bludhaven. He reprised that role in the most recent, Post-Grayson series, too.

Has there ever been any talk of a Legion Of Super-Heroes movie? I was just thinking about how I don't think I've ever heard any.

You'd have to really pare it down, to make it manageable. I don't believe the cartoon was a major ratings winner; so, I doubt anyone has been talking movie.
If you focused on the founding trio, in the first film, and expanded from there, you could juggle the characters. A tv series would probably better suit them.

They did do a Legion animated series, but it was cancelled after two 13 episode seasons...

Knowing DC, it would be some dark dystopian future if they did. I saw part of one of those Smallville episodes and it looked like they did a reasonably good job. I think in Supergirl they've not done quite as well although Mon-El was well played, and Braniac 5 who's still in the series has grown on me. I'd give that cartoon a chance if I ran across it, a bit hesitant to pay for DVDs though.

Oh wait, I saw a Canadian seller with Vol 1 & 2 of the cartoons at the lowest price, and with free postage, so... from another clip on Youtube I think I'll like it, I like the voices and synth background music.

Jimmy's mother passed away of unspecified causes sometime during his childhood. She was never named or pictured. And there's not much more to his father's story than you already mentioned: Mark Olsen was a renowned archaeologist (a colleague of Lewis Lang, Lana's father) who was believed dead for many years until turning up alive and well. There was some suspicion of his being an imposter at first (despite looking just like Jimmy but bearded) but he turned out to be the real deal. Thereafter, he was rarely seen, spending most of his time away on expeditions. He and Jimmy had a good relationship, but Perry and Superman were the true father figures in Jimmy's life. Cei-U! I summon the pater familias!
Thanks Cei-U! It was a Jimmy Olsen cover featuring Superman declaring his regret over ever adopting Jimmy which triggered the thought "Wait, does Jimmy have parents?" in the first place. Your point about Perry ("How many times have I told you Olsen, don't call me 'Dad'!") and Superman being surrogate fathers of sorts probably played a subconscious role in the question as well. There was an impostor at first, albeit an unwitting one. In JO #123 a redheaded, freckled-faced older man pops up, claiming he's Mark Olsen, Jimmy's father. The story continues in #124 and it turns out he's Hal Rand, a friend and archaeologist colleague of Mark's. Rand had amnesia and thought he was Jimmy's father. Of course Superman uncovers the truth and Hal's memory is restored. But he and Jimmy have bonded, and Hal says he wants to adopt Jimmy. In #128 Hal and Jimmy start adoption proceedings but Superman interrupts; the Man of Steel has discovered that Mark Olsen is alive! So he, Jimmy, and Hal go to retrieve Mark. All ends happily for Jimmy and his three dads The Curt Swan covers are--as usual--things of beauty.

Thanks Farrar! I didn't think things would be as simple as Jimmy simply finding his lost father - there had to be some sort of twist in there somewhere.
Speaking of an impostor father for Jimmy, I've long thought it would have made an interesting basis for a story if a couple turned up claiming to be Clark Kent's biological parents. We know that his biological parents died on Krypton, but what if some shady couple came along claiming that it was they who dropped Clark off at the Kent's home and Superman's left trying to expose them without explaining how he can be so sure that these two aren't Clark Kent's biological mother and father?

They certainly have a wealth of material to pull from what with the legion of characters.
Fingers crossed as they're either my # 1 or # 2 favorite team ( back and forth with the JSA )

DC actually just recently released a Legion film, sort of. Justice League vs the Fatal Five has almost as much Legion as JL, and was actually pretty good imho. But yeah, more Legion would be great. I’d prefer animated as DC is much better there than in live action, generally.
