Geez Facing two counts ... both misdemeanors and that's might stick to him ... what an idiot he is. Not likely, from what I've read about past similar raids the Johns hardly ever get prosecuted as unless they were soliciting an undercover posing as a parlor worker there's no real proof they were paying for anything other than a massage. The Johns get their picture in the paper and probably face some tough questions from the spouses, bosses and family but have few actual consequences but the poor girls facing the johns everyday get treated like criminals.

It's under investigations and I just feel that he might have to answer questions about it and possibly face embarrassment from his family, his fans, and anything that's might get thrown at him. It's only a mere day that we heard about this and the NFL has to investigate this too. I just find that the Robert Kraft has to endure a lot of questioning and most of all ... I hope you are right; but it is too early to tell. He might have to forfeit some draft picks and I just find his behavior is not as cracked up to be and since he is loaded he might get off scot-free. It's a wait and see ...

It's a wait and see ... I don't hope I'm right, I'd love for there to be real consequences and some real work towards ending human trafficking and protecting consenting sex workers...but that's not going to happen. They'll be a few rounds of public humiliation for Kraft and the other guys caught; the women will be charged as criminals and if they're illegally here sent back home with no money to show for all the indignities they no doubt had to go through and then everyone will just forget it all happened and move on to the next celebrity gossip and nothing will change.

thwhtguardian ... Understood and I'm painfully aware of the consequences involved in all parties. Your last point ... "the women will be charged as criminals and if they're illegally here sent back home with no money to show for all the indignities they no doubt had to go through and then everyone will just forget it all happened and move on to the next celebrity gossip and nothing will change" is the most sickening outcome that I can think of. I'm really sad to hear this ... and I'm with your reasoning here and all that.

So the Yankees opened the 2019 season the way they ended the 2018 season-losing to the Red Sox. It's only spring training, but beating the Yankees any time is a good thing. Sox off to a 2-0 spring training start (3-0 if you count the game against Northeastern) and some of the young kids who are getting playing time as the regulars ease into spring training games have looked pretty good so far. Still a lot of questions to be answered though.

Robert Kraft is being charged with two counts of Solicitation and his well-being and reputation is on the line; and according (not confirmed yet) ... if he aware of the sex trafficking he could face serious consequences and need to be investigated more further on. This is the latest that I know of. The two links are more reliable source of information. From NPRFrom CNN It's happen in Florida and here's the Penalty ...A Florida prosecutor said a solicitation of prostitution charge carries a jail sentence of up to one year plus a $5,000 fine, 100 hours of community service and mandatory attendance at a class on the dangers of prostitution and human trafficking.

Robert Kraft isn't going to spend a moment in jail, nor is he doing 100 hours of community service. He'll pay a fine, sit through their class, apologize and say he's seen the error of his ways, and move on. What I find interesting is that while Florida talks about the "dangers of prostitution", a place like Nevada (just here in the US, not even to mention somewhere like Amsterdam) sees it differently. To me, it's a lot like marijuana; I have no interest in it and I won't partake in it even if it is legal, but I think the government should legalize it, regulate it, and tax the crap out of it. Sell licenses to the women (and men) who want to engage in it as professionals, ensure they have regular health screenings to prevent the spread of disease, and make money off of it to pay for other social programs. That should help on cutting down the human trafficking, which is successful because these women are, sadly, seen as disposable, but if people can indulge in their vices legally, there is no reason for places like the one in Florida to exist.

The Captain ... You can't say that because you have to realize that the Court can fine him and the NFL can do that too. I understand your opinion here and you made some valid points and all that; but ... I do believe that he'll be punished and can't not escape it. It's still under investigation and both Florida and the NFL has to run their own investigation of what punishment is deem worth the crime. I just reporting the facts and the facts only.

Two bits of sports news today...
first, Bryce Harper signed a 13 year $330 million contract with the Phillies, complete with a no trade clause and no opt out for Harper, he told Boras to get him the longest contract possible as he wanted to finish his career with the team he signed with, and he turned down more money per year in some shorter contracts offered to him.
second, Jason Witten is leaving the MNF broadcast to unretire from football and rejoin the Dallas Cowboys.
sadly it seemed both were overshadowed at times with breaking news headlines about Kyler Murray measuring in at 5' 10 1/8" at the combine today... 24 hour sports news cycle priorities I guess. They can get more mileage from talking heads discussing how Murray's height will play in the NFL and affect his draft position than they can about actual, you know, significant moves made by teams.

It takes him through his age-38 season, although it is front-loaded so his decline years cost the Phillies less. All of the talk of him being a "generational", "transcendent" talent is all well and good, but the facts are that he has had a WAR of 1.5 or less in three of the past 5 years, to go with a 4.7 and a 10.0. When he's on, he's surely a great player, but is off more than he's on. His defense consistently rates as average or worse, and that's only going to decline as he ages, so the Phillies better hope he keeps hitting, because things could get ugly fast if he has an early decline phase (or if he stops caring because he got a monster guaranteed contract). From a personal perspective, as a lifelong Phillies hater, I hope this falls apart quickly and bites them in the rear, because there is little in the world as delicious as the tears of Philadelphia sports fans (particularly Flyers fans, squeezing them out every spring since 1976).

I've looked on the Harper sweepstakes from afar and can't believe the money he received. He's batted 240 two of the last three years. I look at the games played in his career and it seems he might have issues with staying healthy. Maybe someone with more knowledge of his career can chime in.

No, you're gut feeling is correct it really is a crazy sum for him but that's the way the MLB is right now with batters being way over valued.

Batting average has fallen out of favor as a metric in MLB over the past few years, replaced by On-base Percentage. In that respect, Harper gets on base 37.5% of the time or better because he takes a lot of walks, which are valuable as well, as it shows the ability to not make outs.
