New Ahsoka trailer dropped today...and it looks amazing. Ray Stevenson looks amazing in this, so sad it's his last project.

Are they implying that Ahsoka tried to train Sabine in the force?

Are they implying that Ahsoka tried to train Sabine in the force? Yeah, that one surprised me. I don't think it was ever hinted at in Rebels that she was force sensitive, so I guess we'll have to see how that shakes out.

I feel like it was a bit towards the end? I can't give you any sort of actual reference or anything, but I vaguely remember something about her thinking maybe she was force sensitive.

Am I the only one that stayed up and watches Ashoka last night?
I like it overall... I didn't love the way Sabine was portrayed.. she seemed like a spoiled brat teenager, not a 30-something year old leader and war veteran (which is what she should be), and I don't remember her being a tech person outside of weapons. The bad guys are quite good though. The story is as expected so far.. which is fine, I don't need dumb plot twists just because the internet knows what's coming.

Compared to Obi-Wan, which was 'plot-induced stupidity the show,' Ahsoka is Citizen Kane. But on its own it's merely good' so far. If they had set anything about the Sabine-Ahsoka relationship up at any point in Rebels it wouldn't be a problem, but right now it comes across as forced conflict rather than natural conflict since it's 100% out of nowhere. The beginning with the prison ship also had some of the Obi-Wan PIS problem, but that didn't last past that 1 scene and the villains at least didn't have that problem.
Decent start, hoping it will match the highs of the Mandalorian, Clone Wars, Rebels, and Andor once the plot really gets going.

Yeah, she was definitely portrayed as younger here which was a weird place to start but it seemed like she got her a game on right there at the end so I'm hoping that characterization is gone. I loved hearing David Tennent as the droid. Overall I think it was a solid start and I'm pretty excited to see where it goes.

Loth-cats will be the next cutesie SW merch by Christmas time.
Didn't Sabine wield the Darksaber briefly in Rebels?
Is Ezra dead or just MIA? I'm guessing he's captured by Thrawn.

She did... that could be the logic behind her being a padawan despite not really being force sensitive... also she has Ezra's light saber (though it seems to not be the really cool one he made that doubled as a blaster) At the end of rebels, Ezra convinced a herd of Purgills (giant space whales that travel the hyperspace lanes) to grab Thrawn's ship and take it away... no one knows where. He was also taken to wherever they went. The show indicated that both are presumed dead by the Galaxy at large, but clearly the point of the show is to find them, so... Much like those little guys in the last movie who were so memorable I can't remember them they had annoying Chewie in the new movies, they were trying way too hard with the Loth-cat. They are cute, but you don't have to assault me with them to get me to notice them. Subtlety is a thing, Disney.

The second one he made more traditionally as a sign that he was growing up and no longer needed the 'childish' addition of the blaster functionality. He also had guidance from the sith holocron as he was designing it. One thing that might be interesting is if they mention how Ahsoka's presumed death fighting Vader briefly caused Ezra to start down the dark path and embrace dark side tactics and powers.

Oh, Ok I remember that now that you mention it... I think I blocked it out because it annoyed me . I thought the blaster was very clever and practical, and getting rid of it to be 'mature' says more about why the Jedi failed than Ezra's maturity, IMO.

The hero flying their ship into the mouth of a giant space whale in order for it to lead her to her lost friend is possibly the most Star Warsy thing that's ever happened in Star Wars.
